Had it at the dealer today they told me the noise I was hearing was from the fuel pressure being so high that it made the injectors noisy. Are they blowing smoke up my **** or is this what I'm hearing ?

Nope, the ecoboost uses extremely high pressure, from 200 up to 2000 psi. This is because when the high pressure fuel is injected it atomizes much more completely with the air in the cylinder and is way more efficient. 2000 psi makes for a real loud injector.

Thanks for the info guys just wanted to make sure. We all know dealerships can tell us what we want to hear but this makes me feel better. Having said that this truck is amazing. The power this 6 cylinder produces is amazing. Can't wait to hook her up to a trailer to see how she pulls. Ecoboost rocks....

Sounds almost exactly how I would describe what mine was doing. 07 with 5.4L. It was the passenger side exhaust manifold. Did some research and found out it is very common with these. By the time I got around to fixing it, the driver's side was starting to go as well. So both sides are new.

If you want to verify the sound, take the engine cover off and the high pressure fuel pump is on the back of the driver side head. It has its own piece of "foam" on top of it and you will see it immediately. They try to deaden the sound with that foam but when you take it off and get close, you can 100% verify that is the noise.
