Default Has anyone added 6 way power seat to a non powered seat truck?

I have a 2013 STX with a non powered seat. I want to install a 6 way powered seat to be able to lower the driver's seat.

I'm pretty sure the wiring harness is NOT there, but I'm thinking if I get the powered base and switches and run power to it that should work, right?

Has anyone done this?

Also, if I buy a powered base, how tough will it be to swap my seat parts over to it?

I scored a 6 way power seat base locally today for $120. I need to order the switch and harness and probably a few other things but I'm pretty sure I can make this work.

I spent a good 10 minutes playing with a 12v battery with leads going to the different seat motors. Up down forward backwards wheeee!

I already provided you will the wiring diagram and the connector so just go back to the other thread you created and you will have everything you will need to do the wiring. As for the seat itself? here you go! Can it be done?? Yep. Have I done it? Nope but I can tell you it is not a problem. Now if it get a little to much for you,,, and I am not trying to insult you by no means,,,,, you could take it to a upolystery shop to have the put it together for you...

I ordered the 6 way switch today. When it comes in I'll hook the switch up to the seat and to a battery. Hopefully it'll move the correct directions when I play with the switch.

well if it doesn't you could have the positive and negative reversed! You know similar to my post with the seat pictures in where I put the wrong item list to the seat??? Sorry about that but anyway did you order #13 and #14 too? That may be all that is needed as I think the side trim will be the same as you have now!

I did order both of them. Even if I have to run some of my own wires I can keep an OEM look.

I got most of the parts in. I set the seat on my work bench and hooked the 6 way switch to a 12v alarm battery (I install home security systems) and to the 3 seat motors. It works! I'll have to get a few electrical connectors to make it work permanently but the proof of concept passed!

The next step is figuring out how to get + power to the seat.

I would suggest you try this,,,,, go to your other post where I provided the wiring diagram and find the fuse #74, there probably won't be a fuse in it but you can look down and see if there is a connector on both side where the fuse legs would go. If there is then the wire going to the seat may be coming into the cab and it is a matter of finding where it leaves off. It would be a yellow / Red wire. There may be a connector located near the left front seat mount as you are sitting in it! I doubt this but since you have the seat out it would be easy to check. If not the easy way to do it is to get a 30 amp inline fuse holder and place it next to the battery, then run a wire from there to the seat, I would go to the fire wall over to the drivers side, there is a rubber grommet there that you can use to push the wire through, then run it through the kick panel and fish it under the carpet to the seat at the left front mount location. If by chance there is a connector there it would be a 34 pin connector and the pin 21 would be at the top middle pin. again it will be yellow/red! If so remember to put a 30 amp fuse in #74
