Default grinding sound when wheels turned fully and hit bump.

When I pull in to day care to pick up the kids, the drive way has a pothole before the entrance, I pull in with the wheels turned to the lock, hit the bump, and hear an awful grinding noise.

Anybody else experience this?

OEM tire/rim? If not you might be rubbing.

I have OEM wheels and tires and I have experienced this on multiple occasions but not sure what it is. It does every once in a while turning on a incline, example as to turning into a driveway. It doesnt duplicate and happens randomly? Sounds like possibly same thing your experiencing. I have yet to figure out what it could be?

I've also had this happen too. Sounds like a gear grinding for a quick second. I think it's either something to do with the stability control or possibly the integrated wheel ends. I don't get any flashing dash light or beeping, just the grinding sound. It happens on one particular parking lot entrance every time I pull into it.

No light.
Very low speed.
grinding sound is timed with suspension compression. Slow sound... not rotating rim on metal sound...
stock rims and tires.

I think maybe it is the steering bump stop (if there is one) grinding against whatever it comes in contact with.

Glad I'm not the only one.

I've been noticing the same thing when I pull out of my driveway with the wheel at full lock to the left. I have the stock 20's.

It's your steering stop rubbing when you hit the bump. Grease the steering stop and all will be good.

Same thing here every day pulling into work, since I got the truck. Quite a few threads on 'steering squank' 'steering bump noise' etc. etc.

I tried greasing all of the stops, but that's not it. It'll do it at less than full lock as well, if my speed is up there... turn off the traction control and try it. Betcha don't hear the noise next time.
