Default Grill swap, color is off

Bought a blue flame grill off eBay and switched mine with it. The blues are off. The one from eBay is slightly darker. Is this a common occurrence or should it have matched perfectly?

TIA

Was it an oem part? Never repainted? How many miles on the grill compared to the truck? Could just be a difference in how much sun it has been exposed to compared to your truck.

If it's a factory part from a different truck I have heard that even factory paint mix is different as they mix batches of paint. That's why body shops often have to tint and modify oem colours even on new vehicles. I'm not a painter so I don't know 100% just gong off what I heard. If it's true then yes your grille could be off.

Whoever painted it didn't do a perfect PTM. I've never seen a 12th gen come from the factory with a PTM grill.
However, one of my buddies PTM'd the grill on his blue flame 2011.

It is from a 2013 stx. Mine is a 2014 stx. Pretty sure it is factory painted and not PTM. I will contact the seller and find out for sure though.
What would it cost to repaint? $75?

It could also be because the grill surrounding is plastic and hood is metal. Also could be painted from a different batch of paint. I had a 2013 fx2 sterling gray and think the grill surrounding was a shade off from the hood.

The surrounding was stock. Bought the truck brand new
