I just recently traded in my 2013 Scab and in the process I was looking at some new ones, they just don't look as good to me. So I settled on a 2014 SCrew that I got a crazy deal on. It was actually the 3rd time they tried to sell me the truck, they finally offered me my original offer price, so I took it.

Thanks for the compliments. Here is another kicker the dealer did besides telling me one price for trade then low balling me after they already gave me a prive. They had $11,000 off MSRP written real big on the windshield. I asked the salesman if it was a true $11K off MSRP. He said yes, I just sold one and it was a true $11K off MSRP. I said so the truck list for $44,530......he said yes so it would be $33,530. When he came back from the managers desk his price on the new truck said $35,530. I questioned it and he said yes thats $11K off MSRP. I said No its not. Here is what he explained. You know when you look up into the options, on the window sticker, and at the end the factory will print on the sticker a larger number than MSRP then something like "XLT package discount" -$2,000 THEN they print the "final MSRP" real big on the sticker? He said that thats part of the $11K rebate. He said the MSRP is the number BEFORE the large written out MSRP. Talk about double talking and trying to get one over.

I was in the same boat , I was going to trade my 13 xlt ruby red super crew in , it has 12000 miles on it. They didn't want to give me enough on the trade. So I said I will keep it, And bought the extended warranty . And I am happy I kept it.

Package discount is not a rebate, but Ford does the same thing listing it in incentives.

Exclamation

My brother just went thru the SAME EXACT thing with a local dealer here.

EXCEPT, the dealer had the truck marked UP 2,000 over MSRP.

It was the 302A package I think.

Ford advertises it as (for example). $11,000 *TOTAL VALUE*

Its not actually 11,000 in rebates.

Appears what more than a handful of FORD dealers are doing now..

Here was the dealer's response (covering his ***).

Greg,

Thank you for you're concern about the pricing on the internet. So that we are compliant with the advertising by Ford, Newton Ford has priced our vehicles that have discount packages before the discount of the package. When Ford advertises, for example $10,000 off includes the discount package, if we priced our vehicles after the discount package we would not be compliant with Fords advertisement. Ford establishes discount packages on certain models and that is where our pricing comes from. I hope this clears things up for you and thanks for sharing you're concerns. I would love to help you into a new vehicle and you are welcome to contact me at anytime.

Good choice my man...

I had the dealer a few days ago when they were doing a diagnostic on my truck to find the studder issue ( bad coil ) try and convince me to trade my truck in for something newer ( 2014 with warranty still good for 7 yrs ) because someone wanted a FX4, but didn't want new. He didn't get the fact I just bought mine and have a car note. :/

My FX4 is a 14 with 31,000 and will be 3 yrs old in December. I can't even count on two hands how many offer letters I've gotten from my dealer.
Offers of $28,000, huge discount on a new 15/16, free tv's and so on...
Sorry, but I'm happy with mine, I've put all the accessories on that I want and simply put..I'm not sold on that new design.
Personally I think they are a good looking truck when they have a 2" or more lift with bigger tires.
From the factory, they just look top heavy to me, and even with 20's the tires look to small....
Just not doing it for me.

Just an FYI My truck has 13,500 miles on it and they originally offered me $28K for trade (which I would have done with that and a true $11K off) but when we sat down they went to $25K. Funny thing is he ran my VIN (I am assuming) and knew EXACTLY what I had paid for my truck down to the dollar, which was $29K. He said I am not giving you what you paid for your truck and I said then you shouldn't have told me $28K in the first place.
