Ive been using the Motorola Xyboard 8.2 but have been having troubles and the factory charger broke and its the only one that the tablet will accept to keep it fully charged, so I'm deciding to go for the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 which will be a really fast tablet and have a screen resolution of 2560x1600 with a quad core and 2GB of ram.

The software also allows for multiple apps running split screen on the tablet so I can have navigation app of choice on one side while i have my music or torque running on the other. Its allows presets to be made of which two apps are to be opened.

I also will be adding a plunger switch to the top of the dash kit to allow me to turn the tablet completely on or off if i needed or just to turn of the screen if not using it.

I will post pics and updates as the upgrade happens and let everyone know how that more expensive bigger tablet does for me.

Ordered my kit the other day to do this with my nexus 7. Hoping it goes well. my "plan" is to attach the mount brackets to a rear snap in hard case, snap the tablet in, and put it all back together. Of course this may change as soon as I get the kit and have a chance to look at it. I dont have sync.. Going to buy a mini 4 channel amp, come out of nexus with OTG y cable for power and to a hub. Plan to run a USB DAC out to the amp. I guess ill use hotspot to automatically connect to my phone and give the tablet inet access. Going to root the nexus and us tasker to automate everything. Ill start a thread as soon as my kit comes in. I plan to find a solution for a backup camera as well.

Lol wow. I didnt know there was so many posts on this.. Why didnt i find this sooner. Well atleast i ended up getting the right things lol. Did i read somewhere there is an option for FM? USB DVB-T or something? Im going to have to remove my radio completely as its too large to do anything with. If i can get the SDR touch going, i should be able to pair my n7 with my bluetooth adapter and get audio that way aswell?

What have all of you done to make the micro USB cable fit nicely into the tablet without being all bent and braking when putting the dash back together???

Does anyone have the opening dimensions on the Metra? I know it's 9" diagonal.

The new Nexus 9 will be 9" diagonal, but with a 4:3 aspect ratio (7.2"x5.4"). I just want to make sure there will be no shaving needed if I buy a Lariat dipped Metra.

That looks really good, almost factory. Did you put the tablet in the bezel and move the stock Sync system backwards further into the dash, or how did you do that?

I was planning on putting a Dell Venue 8 Pro into the dash in my '04, but I just bought a '13 with Sync, and I couldn't get the V8P to connect to my phone through bluetooth to use the tablet as a hands-free anyway.

That is a Dell Venue 8 3830. Android model. I love it. I rotated the stock cd chassis down.

I am watching YT videos on dash removal. Some only pop out the side panels enough to get the face plate off. Other videos of pro installers have them removing parts of the center console to get the face plate off.

I really was hoping for the simple side panel only type of install. I am being very timid on side panel removal to as not to break them, but they are not coming fully loose.

Any advice?
