Default General Grabber AT2

Hey guys, already thinking ahead to when my Goodyear Wranger AT/S tires wear out, and I think I'm leaning towards the Grabber AT2s. They seem like they get good reviews on TireRack, are similar in performance and looks to the BFGs, and they aren't terribly expensive for a snowflake rated AT tire. Michelin LTX either AT2 or M/S2 are probably my second choice, but I am a fan of saving like $70 a tire in the 275/65/18 size.

Anyway, I've actually done a lot of searching through the forums, and I haven't found a whole lot of references to these tires. I found a few among all the "Nitto and BFG are best" threads and even one pic, I think. I'm wondering if anyone on here is running these, what they think, and if they have any pics. I've gotten all the opinions I need on Nitto and BFG, and I'm really curious about these Generals. I'm not off-road a ton (mostly forest service roads in the summer) but I do see rain and snow frequently enough, and I like the looks of these Generals. I'd love to see them on a 2009+ truck, but I'm very interested in user opinions from any year that might be running them!

Thanks guys!

I have 265/70R16 AT2's on my 02 and they are great tires. I have run lots of BFG AT KO in the past, but their prices have really gone up. The AT2's give the same great performance as the BFG. When it's raining you would have to try hard to make them hydroplane. On the logging truck grooved roads in Northern Wisconsin, you can point them at any water and drive right through. They will handle the dirt and mud as well as an AT tire (though certainly not a mud tire). Work great in the snow and are fantastic on ice. Not to mention they are reasonably quiet and wear well.

^^ I had them on a Sport Trac and I couldn't agree more. Relatively quiet and smooth. I was very surprised how nice they were.

I had them on my 09' Z71 and they were great. I'll be getting them for my FX4 when I get the money.

i currently have them on my 2010 ford and i am pretty impressed with them. Granted they are no mud tire but they do clean out fairly well and havent had any doubt going thru anything that north dakota roads could present havent had much snow but so far they do pretty well. When i get home tonight i can post pics if u would like.

I'd love to see some pics on your truck, Bohner. I've got a 2010, so I'm interested to see how they look on the truck overall. Thanks, man.

sorry for the poor pictures but it was in the garage but anyway these are 275/65/18 with roughly 12000 miles on them and the tread prolly lost 1/8 of an inch if that still like new

They are great tires, I've heard tons of good reviews. Don't let anyone tell you that BFG and Nitto are the best, as they certainly are not. I've had two sets of nittos and both wore fast and my fourth set of BFG (these are A/T KO) and they are pretty good but I wouldn't say either are "the best"...

I'm thinking about some ATZs for my next set
