Not a good idea to find out, unless you enjoy dropping the tank to replace the fuel pump.

The pump is cooled by the fuel, and should be immersed. I rarely let it get below 1/4 tank.

On empty you can not go far. If you are asking how far can you go when the dash says empty that depends a lot on are you on a flat and level road climbing a hill do you have a head wind or a tail wind? I never let my tank get that low I don't want to take a chance on running out and dealing with any problems that may cause.

I tried this once,

"And then I blacked out. When I came to, the car was in a ditch, and the tank was full. I don't know who did it."

All I thought of when I read this post.
