Default Gas Mileage

I have a brand new 2010 Harley Davidson F150. When I first got the truck the computer stated that it gets 8.6 mpg as I have driven the truck for 300 miles it reads 12.0 miles to gallon. About what can I expect to get from the truck I order a tunneau cover today so after i install it next week what can i expect.

It takes a while Bigdog, but the MPG should go up as everything breaks in. Mine started at 9 and is now at 14 after 2500 miles. I am hoping it will go even higher than that, but it is a truck after all.

Thanks for the info Whalersailor18, must admit when i picked up the truck last saturday I was like 8.4 mpg i wont even make it home before it runs out but I have noticed that everyday it goes up which is a plus? Do you have a tunneau cover on your truck and if so did it make a difference?

well in my case i think it was more of the tires due to they each weighted 50 lbs. the stock were like 25 lbs. stock rims were lighter also.

I've been averaging 16-ish in my 2010 King Ranch 5.4 4x4. Only have 1300 miles on it so far. I live in a rural area, so not much city traffic. Perhaps that's the reason.

I've got 2,000 miles on my 2010 F-150 Platinum. Around town is 13.5 mpg. Highway is 17.6 mpg.
