Default Does this sound like normal IWE 4wd quirkiness?

So last night I put it in 4wd at a stop and gunned it on slightly slippery road conditions (mostly dry) and after a few seconds of throttle it felt like I had ran over a brick.

I let off the gas, hit the gas again and same thing, a bang and felt like I was running over a brick with my driver's front tire.

Took it out of 4-hi and seemed to be fine. I called the dealership who had just looked at it a few weeks ago and he said that can be normal sometimes if its not fully engaging for some reason.

Got off the phone with them, drove home in 2wd (totally fine). Got to my neighborhood to test 4x4 again and it engaged fine....it drove fine BUT i was hearing a slight howl/hiss type sound that I hadnt noticed before. The 4wd system in general just seemed nosey and im not sure if I just never noticed it or had my music up or what, but sounded not right to me.

So I went to go put it back in 2wd and it wouldn't disengage at all. Tried it twice and no luck. I remembered someone here saying that if the drivetrain is binding sometimes that you have to go in reverse a little bit and as soon as I did that it popped out of 4-hi back into 2wd, no more howling.

Does any of this sound normal to you? The guy at the dealership, who seemed fairly knowledgeable, said that it can be normal quirks of the IWE system....the only thing he wasnt sure on was having to go in reverse to get out of 4x4.

Sounds like you have a vacumm leak in the lines. I haven't experienced this first hand but I've read about it on here.

A leak causes what you described.
