3rd Gear question: EcoBoost
Hey guys I just picked up a 2012 Ecoboost, and have a question.
When I accelerate from a stop with a light/moderate throttle input, I notice that as the truck shifts into 3rd gear, the torque converter seems to be unlocked for just a moment or two, then quickly locks up and the truck continues to accelerate like normal.
The first two gears feel 'normal'. In First it runs through the RPM range just fine, finds it's shift point, shifts into Second, runs through the RPM range again, shifts quickly and cleanly, but instead of the engine dropping to the RPM you'd expect, it stays up at a higher RPM for just a moment, then dips down to the RPM you'd expect it to...
Is this normal?
