Topic: FX4 vs Lariat
Some have labeled the FX4 the sporty-off-road truck lacking the 4 wheel auto option that its business-causal counterpart the Lariat has. Pricing should not limit your decision because there are some many price variations within each class. It really depends on your personal preference.

FX4 vs Lariat - differences?
Looking to possibly make a move on a new s/crew F150 this weekend. I'm partial to the Lariats exterior look, but I like the FX4 interior (not a fan of the wood grain in the Lariat interior).
Are there any mechanical/suspension differences between the FX4 and the Lariat? I'd also throw the Platinum into the mix. That is the truck I REALLY want, but the price tag has me a bit on edge.

They are practically the same. Just a matter of taste when it comes to personal preference.
I think a loaded FX-4 is the best bang for the buck in the among the higher trim trucks.
I personally like the King Ranch the most.

The FX4 has stiffer shocks as well. Don't let the Platinum sticker scare you. I priced out a Lariat and Platinum and at the end of the day the Platinum was only $2k more. With the year end discounts, you should be able to get a Platinum for 10-12k off MSRP.

I just bought my 2013 FX4 and i was kinda set on the PLatinum till i took a good look at them, and liked the FX4 better for my taste and needs. As far as price goes my FX Stickered out at 1k more than the platinum i was looking at so it all depends on how they are optioned.
