If your a poser and do not plan to really do any work in it and like fake wood trim then lariat... if you work in your truck but also want it to look good with brushed accents, same options and a better suspension system, skid plates, et al then FX-4.

LOL sorry lariat owners, just playing, your truck is nice too. I am just partial to my FX-4 and I "believe" you can get the exact same options. My 09 has everything you could get with the exception of cooled seats.

Both trucks are awesome, get the one that best suits your style AND that you can get the best deal on.

Go to a dealer and compare the two side by side; then compare the tech data. I prefer the FX4.

you can get 4x4 and skid plates on the lariat as well. the thing you can't get is the rear locking differential.

ps. does mudding count as work?

what the heck do you get with the platinum vs. the lariat/fx4? other than brown leather and that hideous tailgate.....

the fake wood look does suck for sure, i like the black gloss dash of the FX4, but I also like cooling seats...comparably equipped, the trucks cost basically the same.

I went with the Lariat: no 4x4 improves gas milage and cooled seats rock in Texas.
