Front Hitch to replace a Tow Hook
Hey guys. I'm working with Jeff from Superbumpers to replace one tow hook with a front hitch receiver tubes.
Previously he made them to fit the Rangers, but we're modifying it slightly to fit the F150s. Main change is so that you don't have to trim the plastic valance. It fits now, but requires plastic trimming.
Main application would be for maneuvering a boat (or other trailer) into a tight place. Or mounting a step on the front bumper to more easily access the engine. Or a million other things you can use a receiver hitch for.
Just thought it was cool.

I will in a few days. It's being adjusted for clearance to the valance. As far as I know the measuremnts are all done and the prototype works. The production ones are being made elsewhere, so when I see some of them I'll post a picture.
I haven't heard from him in awhile. I probably should walk over and check it out. Maybe they are already done. Anyway, they're not too expensive.

And install
Forward most bolt comes out.
Second bolt in is just loosened.
Plastic valance is pulled down for installation.
Once installed and tightened down the plastic valance does NOT touch the bracket
Hard to see in this photo, but I'm holding down the valance while my helper (actually Jeff the designer) is installing the part.

Eventually Jeff said he wants to do one on each side with a longer version of one of the Superbumpers mounted across the two mounts to protect from front end impacts. I personally won't do that as it would impact my approach angle when off-road and block my winch, but most people don't off-road like I do anyway. I'll probably test-fit the parts for pictures though.
Hope this helps people out. It's an easy way to maneuver a boat (or any other trailer) into tight spaces using the front tow-hook.
