Default Fox Racing Shox OE Replacement

Just wondering if anyone has spent the cash on these and what kind of performance have you seen with them. Also mounting of the remote reservoir, where and how did it work? I know the price is pretty high in comparison, but if they provide awesome performance it may be worth it.

$1400!!!!!!!! WOW, buy 5100s you will be just as satisfied and have enough money for a few more mods....or even better buy a lift kit for $1400 that comes with performance shocks...that price is "shocking", pun intended

From everything I understand Fox and King are the best shocks money can buy. 5100's may give you the lift but I just can't imagine a $100 shock can compete when it comes to giving an amazing ride off road as well as on. I'm looking for someone with real world use.

These are night and day above any of the lower priced shocks!

They will be good but you also have to know what you want to use them for. If your just cruzing around then these may be over kill.

To get the most out of them I would be looking at a long travel set up. You probably wont realize their full potential hooling them up to the stock set up.

What about the ones just under the ones you posted about?

Being a jeeper too I've wheeled a lot of shocks and seen a lot of different shocks...Fox and King are definitely good systems. HOWEVER!!!!

However, Race Runner is a good brand of coilovers as well and they have a kit for Ford just under $700...and don't forget Edelbrock.

Fox and King are overrated in my opinion, especially Fox. Its a good brand but you pay for the name. Fox is so well known their product isnt necessarily better than the next.

And I agree with the other poster, you CANNOT compare coilovers with a resevoir to a standard monotube/gas charged shock like the 5100s...

If you buy any of these systems PLEASE wheel your truck on more than pavement!! There are enough non-functional trucks with thousands dumped into them that are doomed to be mall crawlers!

Good luck!!

Fox def make great shocks which is surprising since Fox started out making protective gear for dirt bike riders...lol. Well I can bet the ride will be stiffer with the $1400 Fox setup which is basically a leveling kit with kick *** shocks and coils. But besides the cool looks I am sure a leveling kit (spacer) and good aftermarket shocks would have the same affect. Not as good but 95% of drivers wouldn't know the difference.

For me I like the stock ride. Its great and would not want to compromise that. So when its time to replace my shocks I will try to find a good after market that offers a ride similar to stock.

I've also been looking at the Icon kit that comes with fronts and backs for $1500. They are supposed to be pretty solid and a little cheaper. No remote reservoir, i beat the hell out of the truck but I'm not sure enough that I need a remote reservoir.
