Well, still no luck writing to the IC module after clearing DTCs. I scanned the Forscan forums and it seemed those that had similar issues had to get the Forscan team to look into it and build them a custom version.

Chad Walker & N3UP,

It might be you WiFi OBDII adaptor. I bought a Bluetooth adaptor when I first found out about FORScan lite and wanted to try it with my android smartphone. It worked as described with limited functionality.

Next step was to go full version in an old laptop running XP. Problem was the laptop didn't have Bluetooth so I bought an ELM327 USB cable. Worked great. I even installed the full licensed version of FORScan and was able to change my DRLT etc.

Now I thought I would get a Bluetooth adaptor for my laptop to try and simplify connections. Guess what? FORScan will connect but gives and error and stops! I did some reading and it could be the data transfer rate which is much higher using full FORScan. Not all Bluetooth and WiFi OBDII adaptors are legit, as advertised versions. The OBDLink MX apparently is a fully functional Bluetooth or WiFi adaptor that works but is expensive. I reconnected my USB cable and all was good again.

My suggestion would be to try a USB OBDII adaptor and see if that solves your communication issues.

I bought the OBDLINK MX off of Amazon that everyone was suggesting, with an old Vista laptop. All works well. I need to renew my license now.

Beaker, which USB interface are you using?
I want to get a USB interface since the Wifi one I'm using is a loaner.

I suspect that in my case it may be the Wifi interface, since I have one of the ones that have a known issue with communications delay.

I have, however been successful in changing parameters on my BCM with what I have.
I was able to change the DTRL settings (I put them back to stock since I was merely testing to see if things worked) and I have enabled remote start on my truck.

Chad and I have been getting the errors trying to write to the ICM to get the RS menus to display.
I don't know what interface Chad is using, and we are both puzzled as to why we can write to the BCM and not the ICM with what we have.

I am using a brand new WiFi MX. I do have a USB ELM that I used for IDS. I will give that a go.

My USB VX Diag adapter did work once I figured out to set it to pass through instead of IDS. I was able to write to the IPC and get remote start in the menu. I used the second line from a Lariat so I have some extra stuff with the Auto4wd. No compass though.

N3UP, I would check your settings in Forscan and increase the timeout to the max. I think that was my issue but I haven't tested it out. The USB connection loads much faster anyway.

726-11-01 0101 0000 41 DRL Enabled, Low Beam

726-11-01 0301 0000 43 DRL Enabled, Turn Signals
So this code with the Forscan application will allow a 2012 cdn truck with headlights as the day time running lights to now use the turn signals and look like a factory 2013-2014 F150 with HID's?

I am curious as I am getting some 2013-2014 HID lenses and not sure if they are going to work with my current DRL configuration from Ford.

Also second question as this thread was a big read and I skipped a lot, but has anyone figured out if we can get more then the trans temp and that compass to show up under the gauges on instrument cluster? If we could get coolant temp, oil pressure, voltage, etc like the mustangs and other performance vehicles from Ford have that would kick major ***.

I'm not sure on the exact specifics of how the OEM HID install on a truck that didn't have them. But that's what I changed to get DRL's to move locations on my '12.

Yes, i just inputted this drl code yesterday on my 2012 canadian truck to give the same look as a factory hid equipped truck.
