Default Forscan applications

Since this program relies heavily on year model specific vehicles I've decided to create this thread for those of us in this y/m group, they have one in general and in the 15+ section that everyone can glean info from.

Lets start with what Forscan is, what it does and where to get it.

Forscan is a software program in development that gives the end user full control of most systems that make our trucks tick.

With that said this is where you can get full details on download, program specific details and a forum to share information with other users.

www.forscan.org

After you get familiar with it post up what modifications you did or found out about and share with everyone.

I started by not only activating my DTRL but I also programmed the BCM (body control module) to make my fog lights dtrl, Ford's IDS does not give that option, IDS is limited to either headlights or front turn lights (2013-14).

Now when ever I shift out of park, they come on. With Ford IDS activated DTRL, using headlights or turn lamps come on only when in drive. Using forscan they are on in any gear position other than park.

Screen shots of where I went in the program to make the changes.

Oh and the best part is the program is free as it is still in beta testing, you will read all about that over on the website that covers the program.

Ok then go on 3... and please post back what you were able to do and be sure to post year, and trim level as it may have an effect on those items specifically.

2013 scab XLT 5.0

It works along side any tune, my truck is tuned as well. Matter of fact you will be able to restore your truck to as-built with this program to clean any and all traces of ever being tuned. Just as if you went to the dealer and they replace a pcm or any module for that matter. The as-built data is a free download from www.motorcraftservice.com/asbuilt.

I encourage everyone to d/l their asbuilt data asap just in case.

Great to hear this works on 13"s!

Do you think there is anything in there that will help us with our AC issues?

Ordered that fancy dongle for the HS and MS can. Can you tell me what more I'll see from the regular OBD2 dongle that doesn't support that?

I'll also be looking for AC improving stuff as well as little tweaks like the Fog light DRLs.

I'm also curios was "dark car" is. It did nothing for my 2015 XL.

I forgot to mention that I'll be "playing" around with my 2014 FX4 and a 2006 f250 6.0.

Should the regular version or the "Wine edition" be downloaded on Windows? Both are free, but the Wine edition says "without Extended Licensing (to avoid Wine compatibility problems)" - not sure what wine is other than a beverage that tastes bad. Any insight, or which did you download?

I think wine edition is for macs. Wine is used to run Windows software on a Mac.

How does this work in conjunction with a tune? If I ever want to return to stock, I can still adjust for tire size and other things?
