I wonder if the used Ecoboost truck market is going to take a hit with the trouble trucks being traded in and the word starts to spread about the fuel/oil mix problems.

Ford had better get on top of this soon or else market forces are not going to go well for ecoboost sales. Of course when I was looking at an F150 with an ecoboost and saw it still had the first 2 TSB "fixes" in place and pointed it out to the sales person, the sales person " didn't know anything about that." Selective knowledge. Just make the sale and let the customer deal with it later. The posters here with the service problems know how well that goes.

Reinforces my decision not to have bought the F150 with an ecoboost engine.

Doubt it. The vast majority of people dont read these forums, or do much research in general. Ford does a great job with marketing and people notice that.

Plus you have to remember that these forums are a place where people with problems gather. The occasional issue on these sites represent a small majority of ecoboost owners. Sure there are people who have these issues but dont post or dont know but overall there are thousands of people with 0 issues.

I'm doing ok on my trade, plus $14700 in incentives, plus $1000 in accessories on the new one.

When I bought the '13 I had good trade value and only paid $20k difference for it, tax in.

I just got my truck back today after they changed the high pressure fuel pump and the tsb 14-0040 a few weeks back that didn't fix the gas in oil issue. I am supposed to go back in a few weeks to check on it. I have been in contact with regional rep and should hear by May 5th if they are going to assist me in a new truck.

My truck is a 2013 lariat with 9400 miles on it and I already talked to the sale guy about a new truck and I also am getting a decent trade. Not great but ok.

Are you going with the eco or the 5.0l. I am torn between the eco & 5.0. How did you get $14,700 in incentives? Is it a 2013 model?

So did your dealership find gas coming out once they drain the oil? Did they check the fuel injectors also? Sorry if you explain all that in a previous post, I couldn't find it... I'm just worried, I tought it would be a HPFP problem for sure or leaky fuel injectors!!! I'm waiting again to get my truck checked out gain and run those tests. I'm thinking also to trade-in that God damn truck now... Thank you for the comments and let me know please.have a good one.

Kind of a rude way to ask that questions, probably why you didn't get a response either time you asked...

They said that it was not leaking gas leaking from the HPFP. I will be checking over the next few weeks and they want me to bring the truck back in a few weeks to check. Fuel injectors were just fine. You may want to look at previous posts that show how fuel can leak into the crankcase. I don't know about you but I love driving the truck but I am still going to trade it in for another. I just hope that Ford will help me financially. The sales people don't care about the problems with the truck. They just want to sell a truck to me.

This is the first time I ever had major issues with any truck i have owned.

on big radial aircraft engines we used gasoline injection to THIN the oil to aid in starting.when it was colder than a well diggers boots outside..then when the oil was up to temp the gas would burn off or evaporate. but this was when oil was far less advanced than today...... and gas had LEAD
maybe having a block heater is doing what the gas injection did???
get the oil warmed up so it flows and seals.
if the engine is chilly maybe the gas is getting squirted past the rings and into the oil to cause the dilution and smell, it is a high pressure injection cycle afterall.
the pvc valve probably catches the gas smell as the gas vapors at a lower temp than the oil, so it finds it way through everything

soooo this little puppy must really expand and contract a whole bunch from cold to operating temp
I dont have an engine plug in heater so i shall not worry
