This reinforces never to pickup your vehicle from any service without documentation of the visit. Insist upon it.

I guess that I'm not sure, wouldn't surprise me though.

The drain may be clear, but the "trough"(for lack of a better word) may have a restriction or leak. Can you introduce water near the spot where the leak first shows up in the headliner?

I had this same problem on my KingRanch!...Same pictures videos, Dealer checked my drains and said they were clear....Exactly the same scenario!!! You will not see water around the third brake light or the rear of truck. It ran down the rails of the sunroof...Just replace the third brake light problem solved.
I didn't believe it either, I thought I tried everything so did the dealer until I read a thread on this websight. I then had the dealer put a new third brake light on....and No more leak! If your at the frustration level I was then you start trying things thru process of elimination. Even the dealer admitted he learned something that day!

I've had a total of 4-OE 3rd brake light failures allowing water intrusion.

My headliner never got as bad as the OP's, but I don't have a sun-roof for the water to funnel into.

My 1st 3rd OE brake light failed after 10 months, then every 14-16 months there after.

If you replace it, don't let Ford do it, cuz their fixtures are prone to failure, whether the gasket has RTV on it or not.

First that dealership is F'n worthless. Second, as stated above, I'm going with the third brake light leaking. It's a very common problem.

This looks like my 2014 Lariat. Sunroof started leaking water and drenching the headliner, mainly around the left and right rear corners of the sunroof. Dealer said they found the rear drain tubes off the the connectors on the sunroof track. Now, the truck has 105K miles on it. Never leaked a drop until a few months ago, around 100K miles. So, they couldn't have come from factory like this. The dealer, at my cost ($912.00 parts/labor), replaced all 4 drain tubes. Didn't bother to test it by washing it, etc. One week later, I washed truck and , voila', leaked again. Back at dealer , now they say it points to the seal around the glass. If they would have checked this first they would have seen this as I replicated it by pouring water from a bottle onto left corner of sunroof and watched the water drip profusely by the "seal". SO, now, the cost to replace the seal is $989.00, parts/labor. The seal comes made on the glass, so it has to be replaced as a unit. To say the least I'm po'd at Ford and dealer. I am trying to convince Ford to pay for this as it obviously is a poor design. The dealer will not help with cost, yet, as they say it's best for the consumer to contact Ford customer service and complain. Bottom line, if Ford does not come through and correct a wrong, I am due for a new truck. Was going to buy a 2017 Ford F150. My gut tells neither entity, Dealer or Ford, will do anything to help. So, my choice of new trucks, to be purchased within the next 3 months, will likely be a Toyota Tundra. And the reason I'll go with Toyota, other than their obsession with quality, is I own 2 Land Cruiser, a 1994 and a 2000. Both have sunroofs. Neither have ever leaked. And they have 255K ('94) and 295K (2000) on them. If I do go to Toyota, I will be forever done with Ford. This is my 2nd F150 in 6 years. If I could have gotten a Lariat with no sunroof this issue would not exist. But it does not excuse the fact that these two problems ( tubes off drain connectors, and seal leaking) exist.

I'd love to be there when that Toyota has a problem @ 100k miles and they won't fix it for free either.

Do you honestly think machinery don't wear out? Good luck.

I have a Customer that just had a Mercedes Benz Totalled because of the sunroof, went out to go to work and could not get it out of park. Water filled up the body and took out the elctronics.
Why does everyone say they are going back to Toyota? My Wife's 2007 Rav4 was in the recall of the month club. The 96 4Runner I had was the most uncomfortable thing ever with the Ram Loaner I am in now coming in a close 2nd.
BTW Toyota's break down also, you think the Service department is there to do oil changes only, and wait until you need warranty work done, they have the same excuses all the rest have, could not duplicate.
