Ford replacing my steering wheel - premature wear
I had an unusually nice visit to the service department today. Besides going in for an oil change/tire rotation, I had some premature wear on the soft, inner part of my steering wheel, mainly in the corners where my hands rub during turns. The black color has turned almost white in a few spots due to the wear.
The service writer said he would have the service manager have a look but doubted they would be able to do anything about it. Well, they said even though it was marginal on the warranty acceptance scale, they agreed to go ahead and replace the entire steering wheel. Hell, I wasn't even going to press the issue since I doubted they would do anything about it. I've only had it about a year, but I've put almost 30,000 miles on it.
They're also taking care of the under-the-front-seat clip TSB.
Needless to say, I'm pretty impressed!

I paid for a one day subscription (about $10) at the Motorcraft site to download all the applicable TSB's for my truck. Every other Internet source I tried including the above links was very incomplete.
