Issue: Ford Remote Access app review

The Ford Remote Access app is available for both IPhone and Android users to control vehicle features. The app lets you remote start, remote stop, lock, unlock, audible car find, and there is even an optional feature to receive security notifications.

Read to find out more:
  • What, if any, are the costs associated?
  • Do you have to go to the dealer?
  • What hardware is compatible?
  • How well does it work compared with aftermarket devices?
  • What models are compatible?

Mine came to right around $600 with duties and exchange shipped to Winnipeg. Dealer wanted $800+ here for the same kit. Highly recommend Benny, great service and responses.

Ford tech told me the two white wires are for starter kill. We don't need to hook it up because of the factory PATS.

We do offer USPS/Canada Post shipping which I know is a bit cheaper in regards to taxes/duties

My truck has been sitting for 2 days, in temps below -20C, and the remote access start worked first try this morning at -25C (-37C with wind chill).

There were some posts earlier about them not working below a certain temp.

Yeah mine has been fine too. Normally my truck is inside but because of my Blazer and snow plow project the work rig gets the odd man out.... so it's outside. In my yard which is in a hole it's pretty close to -30 C ambient in the mornings and the remote access fires it up no sweat every time.

Yes there is a 50.00 annual fee for the service. This is paid through the app to a third party company and does not effect your current cellular plan at all.

Please let us know if you have any questions,
