My RMU is installed on the drivers side. All depending on if you have the tire sensor connector or the obd2 harness connector for your RMU.

I would check and make sure there isn't any loose connections. They just changed the connection point. The old should work as good as the new in respect to cell coverage. The only thing that should hold it out is a CEL.

Seems to be plenty of places to find the correct parts if one knows what to look for. I'm glad I went this route before the OBD mess.

Not sure why anyone would go out of their way to get the old obsolete units. Technically speaking there is NO difference in operation that we know just the installation is different. There must have been a reason though that Ford changed them.

Why did it get "discontinued?" I have no earthly idea, but I doubt it's for any of the reasons you say.
If anyone is in the market I highly recommend going this route and ignore vendors who try to sell you their in stock products only because they unfortunately don't have access to the better solution.

You've said this over and over in the past and it just doesn't hold water. What makes it "obsolete" if it works and works great? The "old" kit is cheaper, gives you everything you need in one kit, doesn't make you buy the additional security module that is already included in a majority of trucks (mine included), and doesn't have to be plugged into the OBD port. There's no good reason NOT to use it.
