That's what I mean, where its native to the truck, no extras necessary.
Your stuck with the factory setting then.

Pretty sure with the factory start and key if you press lock and then start twice it extends the run time to whatever length you have it set for if its already running.

In the DIC I think you can also set the duration to 5, 10, or 15 minutes.

I don't understand why anyone would want to use this when you have remote start on your key, to me it's just one more thing in your hand to fumble with while getting into the truck.

In the winter I can start my truck from the airplane whenever I go on a trip. Also when I work I ride a bus in and out from a designated parking lot. When I am coming in from the bus I can start my truck at any distance and it is nice and warm for when I get there. Also since the Remote Access is on your cell phone which I typically have I do not find it combersome at all.

first is range - you can start your truck anywhere where you have a cell signal. I have the 200 series and it’s great but if I’m getting off a plane I would like my truck warm / cool.

second is convenience - no need to carry your keys - hide them in your truck and you can still lock / unlock / start as long as you have your phone

third it's kind off cool and i won't have to buy an extra key fob for my wife if she wants to remote start the truck

This also, plus you can mess with the wife by setting off the alarm randomly from work. lol

Being able to start anywhere with a cell signal would be a nice benefit as we know the factory key fob signal is good for about 100 yards give or take.

You literally can install the whole works in the dealership parking lot yourself and have them activate it . All they need their ids software for is to activate the 100 series remote start. The VSS is activated once plugged in by putting the truck in program mode with 8 key cycles in 10 seconds time. That's it for that. Then they log in to the remote access program website from Fords side and program the RMU. My partsman did this from his desktop pc on the counter and had mine working in about 5 minutes time. It's super simple to do. I had previously had my 100 series remote start activated so second go around the ids and laptop were not required. And yes you need the VSS as the RMU plugs into it. Your 100 series antenna plugs into your tpms module on the passenger side of the truck. It's really easy to do.
Thanks for the reply.
I can't seem to find the VSS but I did the window rolled down, locked the doors and waited. Opened the door from the inside and the display indicated to stop alarm, start the truck. Then it started to chime faster and faster and then the horn started to honk. Doesn't that mean I have the VSS?
Thanks again.

You didn't perform the test he described. Don't open door.. Strike steering wheel.
