DL3Z-19G364-A this is the part number. Look on ebay. It's like 430 from banner automotive now. Contact him and see if he will activate for free like Zac did for so many of us.

I'm not trying to sway anyone. I was all set on getting the factory remote start with the smartphone app added on. I couldn't justify the price and every dealer had a different story about availability and price. I finally was fed up and stopped at my local Best Buy. For $270 I got the remote start that utilizes my factory fob and the smart start module...installed, out the door. I've had it since early January and it works flawlessly. I start my truck from anywhere and the app has some cool features to boot. I can do a status check and it will let me know if I remembered to lock my truck, if alarm is set, or if the engine is running. Just something to think about. I was definitely looking forward to the ford system, but they still don't have their act together and price is obscene.

Thank you so much everyone for answering my question that I'm sure was already answered somewhere in the 59 pages. You guys/girls were all very helpful and got right to the point. As far as the best buy alarm I would love to know what kind of alarm you had installed, me personally wouldn't let best buy touch my truck but I would buy there alarm if you say its good lol

I have the Viper. I love it, no issues at all and a fraction of the cost.

The difference in the viper or any non factory alarm is that it doesnt integrate with all the features the newer trucks have. Like turning the heated seats on automaticaly or the cooled seats. Aftermarket systems are an easy way to add features, but are starting to become less needed as the factory option do the same thing with added benefits.

I've had the Ford remote access installed for about 3 weeks, and I love it. Works like a charm. The only issue I have found so far is I need to close the app after each use. If I leave the app open in the background, when I go to start the truck it can't communicate for some reason. If I close the app and re-open it, it works every time.

Am I reading this right? If you don't close the app, you can't start the truck with the key???

No he can't start it with the app. Key will always work.

I have not had this issue. If I leave the android app up and come back to it later it refreshes and I can use as normal. I've never had to completely close it.

He may be using the app for iPhone but that's just a wild guess.

Never had this problem on iphone or android. I would suggest deleting the app and reinstalling.
