Issue: Ford Remote Access app review

The Ford Remote Access app is available for both IPhone and Android users to control vehicle features. The app lets you remote start, remote stop, lock, unlock, audible car find, and there is even an optional feature to receive security notifications.

Read to find out more:
  • What, if any, are the costs associated?
  • Do you have to go to the dealer?
  • What hardware is compatible?
  • How well does it work compared with aftermarket devices?
  • What models are compatible?

I wish people would read this whole thread before asking questions. Almost every recent question has already been answered at least once. I listed all the part numbers in a previous thread, gave a link to a website with all the part numbers and instructions, and I wasn't the first to do this. The instructions are posted earlier and all the part numbers could be found, though maybe not in one post. Read, people, read!

The Zachory guy is supposed to be finding that out for me. He should know by Monday he said. I'll update on what he tells me. I really want to know before i decide to pull the trigger. I am not overly happy about the 72 standby thing, but i understand why.
The remote access kit DOES come with the RMST and RMU. The RMST is the same as the series 200, has the shock sensor built into it, and includes the harness to connect to the RMU and TPMS.

Thank god you mentioned the leather seats. Are you right handed or left? Does your truck have a 5.5ft bed, or 6.5ft? Be specific. These questions matter.

REPOST:

DL3Z-19G364-A - kit included remote start module (RMST p/n DL3J-19G367-AA) and cellular box (RMU p/n DL3J-15603-AA) w/harness
DA8Z-15603-A - aerial asy (don't know what it does in the remote access setup since you aren't using radio waves, but it's required if not already installed and plugged into TPMS)
BL3Z-19G366-A - Hood switch (this was already on my truck, but you need it if you don't have it)

Add local start with fob:
DL3Z-15603-C - Second aerial asy (little box with two short antenna ears)
DL3Z-15K601-A - Bi-Directional Remote Transmitter

This site has all the information: http://www.paulmachenry.com/auto-acc...s/remote-start
Click through the pdf files and one has applications and part numbers.

I contacted Zac on eBay and he confirmed all I needed for my 2013 FX4 with 100series remote start, that only thing I needed was dl3z-19g364-a. I ordered it from him and it should be here by Monday. He also said he could activate it over the phone.

[QUOTE=ianinedm;3123468]haha more confusion. When you look at the install instructions, it shows how to install the Remote Start System(RMST) along with the cellular unit (RMU).

BUT, another user on here posted a pic of what was in the box and it was only the RMU, no RMST unit.
https://www.f150forum.com/attachment...1274536221.jpg [QUOTE]

ianinedm-- That picture the other user posted was just of the RMU unit. You can see the part number on the module in the pic. The kit I posted earlier has everything you need in it which that user didn't buy that kit. He only bought the RMU. Zachary can clarify for you.
The kit 19G364-A will have an RMST 200 unit with it. Essentially you use the supplied Y-harness and piggy back it to your TPM and existing RMST 100 series unit assuming you already have remote start from the factory. So you essentially end up with two remote start modules. The 100 series already installed in your truck and works with your factory key fobs. And the new 200 series which is connected to the RMU to remote start via the remote access app and RMU system you just installed. Make sense?

"Are you right handed or left handed"-Depends on what I'm doing.
Truck has a 5.5 ft bed most of the time but I did haul a king size bed once which is 8 ft I believe.-----Now, which part do I need???
BTW- I almost forgot, I DO have the F150 badge on the tailgate but its now black, it was once red so keep that in mind.

thanks. I have read this thread and participated in it for a while now. No where did it state he only bought the RMU.

I have the 200 series I will not buy the remote access if I am forced to by a new RMST unit along with it.

Chill with the snide comments too. Aren't their enough threads on this forum full of that crap? If the questions are being asked again and again, just ignore it, don't be a dick.

Thanks Dannytexas, I will have to see if I can buy just the Canadian RMU.

Sorry man, honestly no disrespect intended. I guess the excitement of a few days off from work for thanksgiving has got me in rare form.
I was just having a little fun and not directing it to anyone.
Heck I'm sure I've asked the same redundant questions myself so my comments are just as much towards myself then anyone else.
Please accept my apologies.

If you have the 200 series already then all you need is y-harness and RMU like what was pictured in the users pics.

Let me know if I can be of more help.
I'll be happy to call Zachary for you if you get me your VIN and find out exactly what you need.
Danny
