Yeah so am I, I just re watched the video and it states the perimeter alarm system is optional and yet on the system page it says it's required?!?!?!?!!!
WTF? And it will likely require some sort of contract because it needs a cell connection to accept the remote control, I didn't see any where about it but I have never heard of anything operating via cell being free.
Gahhhhhhhh

Since I want an OEM system only, I am not concerned about the costs and fee as much as how do we do this. I want to know is what part(s) do I have to buy for my year and trim (I am not paying Ford Canada Parts Pricing), can I do the plug and play stuff myself (how do I do that, and where are all the components it where the stuff plugs into) and what does the dealer have to do in regards to a flash. If I can get solid answers, I buy the thing right now. Living in Edmonton with the crappy OEM Fobs, this is a must. Movie theatres, hockey games, after work. This thing is a must for our 5 months of bitter cold winters.
Edit: re-reading this made me laugh as of course I am asking for all the same things everyone else is. It's surprising that not even ford can tell you the answer. After all the time it has been out for its funny to me that these questions are still unanswered.

I ordered this remote start last week, but the part #DL3Z-19A390-B is for the U.S. and the part #DL3Z-19A390-C is for Canada. Part #19A361 vehicle security kit is required.

I found another link to the installation instructions for all 2011-2013 vehicles that are compatible:
http://www.fordservicecontent.com/fo...k3-15-2013.pdf
F150 starts on page 40 of the PDF.

edit: read the pdf.
Ok with this i understand what all this means. The security kit is optional and can be either enabled or disabled via a jumper on the RMST. If you have remote start already, all you need is the RMU that plugs into the RSMT. Assuming you don't have the security kit, the jumper should already be in the disable position. You can add the security kit if you want.
The images in the PDF are good, but it still doesn't tell you where the RMST module is. Shows the TPMS is but if you have the remote start already, that doesn't matter. Hopefully mbf150ecoboost can get some good answers tomorrow.

$152 CND. I phoned then and got him to do a search because I couldn't find it and they had to order it in. Total for both parts was $489.90. Hope I did it right.

Guys-
Just returned from the dealer and found out some interesting info. First off my dealer has never done one and didn't know a lot. I called 1-800-FORD-KEY and they helped me out. Looks like there are 2 different RMU systems, DL3Z-19A390-B & -C... the -C is the Canadian Version, - B is US. The -B system will not work in Canada and the -C system will not work in the US. So the unit i got is being returned to Tasca. Even if I had installed the -C version, as soon as I crossed the border into the US, the remote access system would not work, this is what the guy @ FORD KEY tech line told me. Also the Factory remote start (100 series on the key fob) is not compatible with the RMU DL3Z-19A390 (-C or -B). He also said that the DL3Z-19A361-A Security Module is required for install. Looks like Ford is out to lunch on this unit. I'll be looking into Viper or the Audiovox unit now.
