Issue: Ford Remote Access app review

The Ford Remote Access app is available for both IPhone and Android users to control vehicle features. The app lets you remote start, remote stop, lock, unlock, audible car find, and there is even an optional feature to receive security notifications.

Read to find out more:
  • What, if any, are the costs associated?
  • Do you have to go to the dealer?
  • What hardware is compatible?
  • How well does it work compared with aftermarket devices?
  • What models are compatible?

Just picked one of these up from Bobby at Banner Ford. The price was great and he shipped it to me right away. It only took about 5 minutes for him to activate it over the phone also, so I didn't have to go to the dealership for them to do it.

If you're thinking of getting one of these, I recommend Bobby. He was friendly and very easy to work with.

I just got done putting this in. I ordered my from Banner Auto and can't say enough how awesome that was! The install is super easy(other than finding a spot for the boxes under the dash of my already crowded Platinum dash), I emailed Bobby when it was time to activate it and he had me up and running in no time. Even had a small issue with programming my key fob and he stayed on the phone with me until we had it all worked out.

If you are thinking about a remote start I would absolutely buy this one and buy it from Banner!

This is interesting, I didn't know you could get a module like this for the older trucks. Is this system compatible in Canada? What are the monthly charges for this? Is there somewhere that has a FAQ on it?

The system is available for your 2012 but not your 2008

There is a specific module for Canadian use, Both required parts can be found here:
http://www.levittownfordparts.com/fo...da-p-2399.html
http://www.levittownfordparts.com/fo...em-p-1882.html

There is an annual charge of $50.00 USD

Please let us know if you have any other questions,

-Benny

Thanks for the quick reply and answers, is definitely something to consider vs. the standard remote start that I was going to purchase.

Just picked up this kit. Where is everyone mounting the shock sensor? The Ford instructions say to mount it to the left side defrost duct. This doesn't seem like a very good place to me.
