Issue: Ford Remote Access app review

The Ford Remote Access app is available for both IPhone and Android users to control vehicle features. The app lets you remote start, remote stop, lock, unlock, audible car find, and there is even an optional feature to receive security notifications.

Read to find out more:
  • What, if any, are the costs associated?
  • Do you have to go to the dealer?
  • What hardware is compatible?
  • How well does it work compared with aftermarket devices?
  • What models are compatible?

Lightbulb Ford Remote Access app for smart phones

I realize there is already multiple threads for remote start but I havent seen much talk on this 'remote access' app.

I havent talked to any dealers about it yet but it looks like it will allow you control your door locks and remote start from your iphone.

Has anyone heard anything else with this? experience using it? Is it even out yet?

I just ordered a 13' platinum but want to make sure the remote start that I ordered is compatible with this system. I wonder what else it could be used for.......control your windows? check you truck diagnostics?

I think that's an aftermarket item. I know the Chevy line uses that On-Star system but its cell phone based. If you have an aftermarket alarm then its possible, sure.

Def does not look aftermarket. I know Viper already has a similiar system in place with there alarms but I was looking for something from FORD that would be intergrated with my factory remote start.

I just emailed my dealer to see if he's heard anything about it.

It's legitimate. I don't know what hardware you'd need, but here's the app in the iPhone App Store:
