Default 4wd LO Question

My question is this;

At what rpm does your truck shift from 1st to 2nd? Drove around today in 4LO and my truck didn’t shift until about 4 grand. Just looking to see if anyone else’s truck took that long to shift.

Thanks,
Overland

I can't say for sure, but that seems about right. If I'm in 4lo I normally only use 1st gear so I don't see when it shifts up.

A lot probably depends on how much throttle you're giving it, just like in 2WD. More throttle, and it's going to rev and give you higher shift points. Drive like a granny, and it'll shift at lower rpm's.

In 4low, it typically will hold a gear a little longer anyway, but I don't think it's a set "4,000 rpm before shifting into 2nd gear".

Mine does this too and it drives me NUTS. I have no idea why they would program it like that.

However, if you have the SelecShift transmission you can use that to go into any gear you want in low-range.
