I did pay the $585. No it didn't include the first years subscription.

Ok so I bought one of these "Ford Remote Access" but opted out because my installer figured out how to get the non oem version "Carlink w/GPS" by Audiovox to work seamlessly like oem. I have the install instructions which my installer got from a ford tech because the box only come with the module no instructions. Everything is plug and play just needs a trip to the dealer to program it, 15min process but most dealers may charge the full hour. I paid $487 for it anyone interested in can have it for $350, it's a company vehicle so boss picked up the bill and Ford won't take it back so it's a good deal especially for anyone who knows a tech that can set up the programing for it. Installation is plug and play no splicing or cutting. Let me know. I'm will officially post it on the for sale forum tomorrow.

I just installed mine this week in about 20 minutes, little difficulty figuring out where to mount the main unit securely so the shock sensor works right. 3-5 second delay on commands day or night, quick program at the dealer since I only needed them to generate a PIN number from their IDS system. First one they had done.

Love it.

I'm glad I went back in this thread as I was going to ask you where they mounted the 2 modules. Just comparing to the instructions I have, that RMU data modem isn't in the right place for sure. They did the install right
?

The instructions say the main unit is mounted on the bulkhead, but for the life of me I can't see that from where the access points are opened here. The RMU goes on that vent tube, but further up the tube where it turns horizontal and will be under the defrost vents more or less.

How is yours working? Mine is 3-5 second delay so far.

Mine works great. I have never had it fail. I use it more than I thought. Two instances come to mind... The first I was at Hershey Park (an amusement park) 90 degrees + out. When I was about 15 minutes from my truck I started it. Everything was cool when I got there. Second was getting off a plane, same results. My delay is also about 3-5 seconds. Works way better then the integrated key that came with the truck.

I do have a question for you... Since the install my mpg has dropped about 2 to 3 mpg. Not sure if it is related, but I have driven 1200 miles since the install and I am consistently 2 - 3 mpg lower. Has you mpg changed?

I haven't really driven much to notice but with only tapping into the vehicle data bus at the tpm, I can't see how it would related really.

You're driving less miles per gallon because of the extra idle time.

I don't think it is related, but was just wondering. I wonder if they updated my PCM when I had it there which caused the change in mpg.

15 min idling will surely drop you MPG.

Prior to getting it installed, I was getting 18.5 - 19 MPG city. After install even in months where I don't use the remote start (spring, fall) I've been getting a constant 14.5-15.5.

And yes, even thought this thread is 2+ years, I am still having the same issue.
