Thumbs down Ford refusing to warranty cab corners because they would not inspect before warranty

So a little rant agents Ford Customer Service. August 30th, While pressure washing my truck the drivers cab corner literally washes away. All there was left was paint holding the shape of the corner. I checked the passenger side and its was not far behind. I Contacted FORD who was unavailable because of the weekend. So I called a local dealer and reported it. They did not have time to look at it that day (Saturday) and told me to come back on Sept 2nd. Tuesday. So I went in and they took a few pics and sent it to ford. A week later I get a response from the dealer that the claim was denied because the warranty ended on August 31st. I called ford and the first girl was nice but could not fix the issue for me so I asked to speak to a supervisor. She said there was none available and someone would call me within 4 hours. Three days later a supervisor called. Basically called me an ******* for wasting her time with the obvious manufacture defect that allowed water to collect inside the corners. She admitted she had the e-mail and pictures I sent on Saturday which were identical to the ones taken by the dealer.

So anyone have some suggestions besides sueing them. Theres no longer just cab corners for the f150. Its the whole door frame at 990 each. For $30 of sheet metal. Dealer thinks arounf 4-6K to do both.

Just remember. They have lots of very high paid lawyers to fight with. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row before going toe to toe. Good luck to you.

Its a 2009 lariat. The corners rotted because the third brake light is leaking. I have a Radio antenna right infront of it so I thought it could be that leaking. But it has a tight and oiled o-ring sealing it to the roof. When I pulled the brake light the seal was dry and there was a ton of dirt collected behind it. Obviuosly the leak.

They will just argue that your antenna is to blame.

I have one idea, of course this depends on how bad the damage is. There should be a inner structure and a outer (The outer being the pretty painted part). If the inner is okay and the outer needs replaced, how about checking the price at a hot rod shop. At the end of the day it should just be sheet metal work that they do all the time.

Obviously Ford warranty would be the best bet, but i cant see a rod shop costing 4-6K.

If the inner structure is gone, disregard the entire idea.
