First in, Last out.
Got this "Automate" 2 way remote starter through my Ford dealer for my 2013 It has 1000 meter range. It confirms start with one type of chime and gives start fail with a buzz sound.
I don't know how much they are because it was part of my deal when I bought the truck. But it does have amazing range.

Do you really need 1000ft of range?
This will work with your truck and gives you 300ft

True enough. You always know it's in your pocket. The remote fob is much smaller and thinner than the key. I like this one since it is smaller than the Ford ones. Do they even make one that replaces the oem key?

Ok. I will try to help clear up the confusion.
Ford used to have 3 versions of remote start: the 100 series that uses the key, 200 series bidirectional with separate fob, and the remote access app. At some point earlier this year, they removed the 200 series bidirectional from their accessories site and replaced that with a one way long range version that still uses a separate fob. Now we have the 100 series, long range, and remote access app.
The 100 series is the same that comes standard from factory. Comes with an antenna that simply plugs in and is mounted behind the glove box and 2 keys that you will need to have cut.
The long range version comes with the same antenna as the 100 series, a control box, wire harness, long range antenna, and 2 fobs.
The box mounts behind the glove box, along with the 100 series antenna. The wire harness plugs in between the tpms and the control box. The long range antenna then mounts on the windshield behind the rear view mirror. This involves removing the passenger side a pillar trim piece to properly run the wire.
The fobs are small. Approximately I don't have a ruler handy, but it's probably 1.25"x.75"x.25". I don't even notice it in my pocket.
I suppose theoretically if you already had the 100 series you could use your current antenna, instead of the one that comes with the long range kit, and retain the use of your current keys plus have the fob, but I didn't already have remote start, so I can't say for sure.
The fob is simple to use. Just hold the button for 3 seconds and that's it. Doors will automatically lock and truck wi start.
Any of these will require dealer activation if you don't already have remote start. I hope that helps. Sorry for any typos, I typed this on my phone.

Will this kit work with our trucks? I'm assuming it's the 200 series right? I'm wanting the bi directional series but my dealership said the only one they had was the basic and quoted me $450 to have it put on
