Lightbulb Ford Microsoft Sync Locked Up - Fix

I have been having problems with my sync locking up in my 2009 Ford F-150. I bought a new iPod Shuffle that caused the sync to lock up temporarily any time it was plugged into the USB when I started the truck. When it was locked, I could not enable sync with the AUX button or use the phone button or the voice command button. Since the phone button was inactive, I was not able to do a soft reset. I could not find any advice online to correct this problem (why I am posting). After spending some time online with the Sync support, I found that they were not allowed to tell me how to complete a hard reset. I called the local dealer and they were not able to tell me how either. I tried unplugging the (-) terminal on the battery for about 15 minutes, without success. I tried one more time, this time leaving it disconnected for about 2 hours. Success!!! The sync works again! I am now going back to using an iPod Classic Video. I had absolutely no problems using that model. It is unfortunate that none of my 3 creative media players function with the sync.

Disclaimer: Do not try this at home. Attempting this repair may result in injury or death. Have a trained professional do any repairs on your automobile. Disconnecting your automobile battery will clear any presets or saved data in your vehicle's computer. F150forum and I are not liable for any injury or damage to your vehicle.

Default Pull the Sync Fuse

This has been discussed on the SyncMyRide.com site. You can also remove the Sync fuse. From page 315 and 317 of the manual:
