Ford's done an awesome job in flexing their muscles with the 09-up F-150's. They are not afraid to put them up to the test head to head with the competition, and it shows they truly are the best built trucks on the road. Hats off to them on our trucks and the new Ecoboost!

Would you go for the dyno or the race track with bleach oil? I would think the track, the smoke would fill the dyno room so much the cameras would be useless. Yes I understand your sarcasm.



We had an old 89 EFI 302ci in a f150 that we tied the throttle open with no coolant. It ran for 11 minutes before it slowly came to a stop and then caught on fire. It had a stuck valve and was totaled in a wreck. It had stock exhaust and you could feel it shooting out of the tailpipe 20 feet away. 11 min doesn't sound like a long time, but when your waiting on a motor to go, it seems a lot longer.


I am waiting on video for the baja race with the EB V6. One would have to admit that this is more public testing open for scrutiny than any other motor I've seen. I don't buy new cars so the consumer reviews (f150forums) will be in long before I purchase one.

24hrs hauling 11k at WOT was awesome... one question though, the truck only traveled 1,600 miles why the need for tire changes?

more than likely just a safety precaution, since they were taking the corners at high speed repeatedly

You eat the tires up faster when you travel faster....they were hauling almost 10 tons around at speeds of 100mph at times. Some exotic cars running at full speeds over 200mph run out of tires faster than they run out of gas...

....so I've heard....

I'm more curious what kind of oil would allow 200,000 rpms on the turbos consistently for 24 hours without burning up the oil and ruining the engine. Looking at the time compared to the miles traveled, I wouldn't think they had time to change it along with the gas and tires at intervals...but how do I know....if they did..it would make sense to me how the oil and the motor and the turbos stood up to that kind of abuse...

I know one thing, when I punch my truck...the SC cranks the head temps 25 degrees in ten seconds or less and then i'm off of it.....I can't imagine the head temps on that thing running that fast at full boost pulling that kind of weight.....if they didn't change the oil, and the coolant kept the heads from cracking...i'm extremely impressed and surely do see a 4-door raptor with a EB v6 in my future...

also have to consider tire temps when traveling that fast and hauling that kind of weight...not sure those 2-ply tires are rated for that kind of speed and weight over that amount of time....they might have just been swapping them for cooling purposes...
