You my friend are being fed a load of ***** from the dealership....No wheel and tire size swap will throw a P code. ABS or Traction Control maybe, but not a P code....Mud ???? Seriously ??? I guess you're not supposed to EVER drive your 4x4 off of a paved road according to your dealership....I worked for FORD for 7 1/2 years and now work in research and development for every auto manufacturer in the world. Ford has cracked down on dealerships very hard in regards to warranty claims. It's because techs over the years were replacing parts that weren't bad. Ford checks and inspects warranty returned parts to see why they failed, when no fault is found with the returned part, the dealership gets charged back for the cost of the part and the tech labor. So when you see a dealership reluctant to cover something under warranty (even when it's obvious) it's prob. because their techs aren't worth a ***** and they've had alot of warranty charge backs do to misdiagnosis...Some dealerships are in such bad standing with Ford that they have to call, submit pictures and have an inspector come out to look at the failed part in question in order to submit a warranty claim. The dealerships with the best techs don't have to "get permission" from Ford to submit a warranty claim. Sounds like you found a service department with a shady relationship with Ford. Good luck brother...

Well they really gave it to me. Spoke with Ford again with formal complaints. Spoke with GM @ Morrow Ford. The issue is the sensor that plugs into the transmission was "contaminated" so the P codes from my trans was not warranty covered. Again they are inferring I drove offroad. I exhausted my argument with the GM who stands behind their decision. $420.00 of erroneous charges. They still have it. Have to drive after repair and re-inspect. I don't know what to do now. I advised them word of mouth can be detrimental and I would be exercising that. Morrow Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Beaverfalls PA. So everyone on this site, hope you don't get the underside of your 4X4 dirty indirectly.

Go get your truck and don't go back. Pretty bad when all the advertsiments that Ford uses their trucks in show offroad use...

I'd go over the GM's head. They are basically tell you that if you drive down a dirt road then your warranty will be voided. Seems ridiculous to me!

That plug could have been not completely plugged in from the factory, or the seal could have been bad, either would allow water/dirt to enter the harness and cause these problems. It is their job to prove that the issue was caused by something you did if they want to not cover it under warranty.

Also, the fact that they even brought up your different tire size tells me that they were trying to stick it to you from the beginning. I mean, you only went up half of an inch in overall diameter...most people wouldn't even notice that when looking.

Ok I was misled again. Was advised over the phone $420.00. Grandfather-n-law picked my truck up for me while I was at work. $486.00. WTF! I am losing my mind. Will be calling FORD daily. Plan on calling BBB and National Highway Safety Inst. This is ridiculous. Again when I spoke to the GM Peterson at Morrow Ford today one of his responses were that I didn't buy the truck from them. Incidentally when I came home today stopped at my neighbors who has the same truck and year I do except color. Opened his hood and exact same dirt was present on rear of his motor and firewall. Hmmm did we go off roading thru the same mud? The statement I received with my bill reads as follows.......testdrive, verify concern, fluid level full. During testdrive, engine light flashing. Perform diag, found codes present. Diag for codes, pinpointed 2 issues. 1 being trans bulk connector packed with mud, engine muddy as well as firewall. Clean out connectr at TCM. R&R Heatshields to repair. Also tire size is different than original from factory. Recalibrate TCM for tire size difference, confirm repairs. $400.50 Labor. First of all to reiterate, no mud packed bulk connector. The engine light NEVER lit up for me ever! This is all gundecked. Anyone have any other ways for me to reclaim this money? They weren't able to redo the emissions. Told me to drive and can return within 30 days for redo of FREE emissions. I think I've vented enough. I'm sure You all get the picture.

Did you ask them to recalibrate the computer for the new tires? If not they performed a service without your permission and charged you for it. Even if you did, ask them why Ford has other tires sizes programed into the computer for them to choose from if you're not supposed to change them.

I would start recording F150 commercials on TV that show any offloading or driving on dirt and ask both the dealer and Ford why they falsely advertise their product if we are not allowed to go off pavement.

Listen to this guy. Go take that money and invest it in an attorney that will write one HELL of an eye opening letter that shows just how far you're willing to drag this dealer across the mud flaps of your "off road" excursion. Let them know that while they may hope you're dragging them across the mud, it will actually be asphalt and concrete because that is where you drove.

Time to file a law suit with this if you want to save your tail and seek retribution for the false advertising, manipulation tactics... better yet. Take it to the local news and papers... radio. Hopefully they won't black ball you with conflict of interest issues. You can Go national if you like. But, that's up to you and the almighty dollar. I don't use dealers for anything but target practice. They are blood sucking vipers. edited to add... I hate them so much that I usually buy used and low ball the hell out of em when I even consider purchasing from them. They want to get rid of me so bad that they either stop talking or they laugh while doing the paper work. I've bought 1 care, 1 minivan and 2 trucks from CarMax because I hate dealers. I'd rather throw my time and money somewhere where they don't give me a migraine from wanting to twist their pin heads off. Yeap, I get that mad. I figure it keeps me out of prison.

Spoke with a retired Ford engineer yesterday, As far of this crap them telling my truck was "muddy" the guy told me its engineering fault. The front wheelwells have opening in them allowing dirt to splash up onto the motor and lower transmission. The F250 and 350 have rubber aprons that completely cover that opening down to frame. This older guy was extremely upset and said it's a truck damn it! Also, he pointed out the specific off road obstacle course they test the trucks on which are certainly mud packed. We'll see. Called Ford four times now. Each time they say it gets forwarded and someone will contact me within four days. Should be getting allot of calls. Each time you call there is a case number created and assigned an agent.
