Default Ford Customer Service - Please Help!

My truck is a 2013 F-150 SCrew XLT with 29k on it. I'm seeing paint peel from the top of my bed, from underneath the bed rail covers. VERY frustrating as I have had my truck 23 months and I know this problem will only get worse, all while I am still making my large car payment every month.

Is this covered under any sort of warranty? I can't get to my dealer until next week. Any help would be appreciated.

Factory paint issues are only covered up to 1yr/12k mile on new trucks. Just like a lot of issues are. As soon as 1yr or 12k is up they tell you this as the rest of the truck may still be under the 3yr/36k btb, but there are exclusions after a year or 12k to the 3/36. They got this warranty thing down lol. Had this happen to a new f350 I bought in 09 and was surprised to say the least.

Hi DawgPound0929,

Please send a PM with your VIN; I'll check a resource on this end.

Or you could call the 1-800 number and talk to someone right away. But I'm not sure why your calling Ford customer service when you haven't gone to dealer yet.

Made it to my Ford dealer today. They sent the photos away to Ford who promptly blamed it on my tonneau cover putting too much pressure on the bed rail caps which in turn has applied too much pressure on the paint. I find this very, very hard to believe. The tonneau in question is the Extang Solid Fold 2.0

The shop I buy all my accessories from says they have NEVER heard of such a claim and would love to take photos and send to Extang so they can be in communication with Ford.

Seems like Ford just looking for the easy way out. My first brand new car experience ruined for sure...sucks.

Hmmm, the marks I see (paint scuffs) don't appear to be consistent with the way the bed rail cap sits on the rail. The cap doesn't extend down past the outside edge. Something VERY heavy would have to sit on the rail cap to deform it enough to crush down over the outside edge of the metal bed edge. That being said, the scuffs top and over the side appear to be a rub by something other than the plastic rail cap. I believe this is going to be a tough sell to Ford or Extang.
