Just picked up a set for next to nothing! Auto dim sure is nice too. Can't wait to wire up power fold. Everything else is working perfect! Going to get the caps painted tux black too. Rocking the textured caps for now.

Alright fellas. I need some help. I have wired up the driver door. But I am struggling with getting the wires through the door and into the cab. I have the connectors to make a clean install. The drivers door is working with power fold.

The connection into the cab is where I got stuck. I can't figure out how to disconnect the connector, so that I can insert the pins and make my connections. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Or point me to another write-up that will help with this. Thanks.

I didn't have to modify the connectors on the flexible conduit between the door and the body. My 14 had no connectors

I was able to run a straightened coat hanger through the tube and pull the wires through.

I have a 2013. It has the connectors. I'm trying to determine how to pull them apart so that I can insert my pins.

There is a safety clip to press, then pull the gray lever down. It will pull straight out. You may need to close the door a little for it to pop all the way out. The door jam connector rotates and you pull it into the kick panel area. You have to move the parking brake temporarily to do this. Other side is the same. I believe I had to remove the fuse panel there.

Thanks cajunsteve. I have seen all of that and understand that. My question was more about the door side of the connector and how exactly I pull it apart so that I can insert my new pins.

Gotcha. When you disconnect it, that connector comes apart in two pieces. Top and bottom. There is a tab or two, I think I used a flat head screwdriver to push in or whatever. After that just pull the rubber boot back.

Thanks Steve. I'll give it a shot again next weekend I fought the damn door connection for 2 hours this morning and made no progress. I was focused more on the cab side. I disconnected the parking brake and hood latch and the ground in that area and still couldn't get enough room to get my big *** hands in there to get the connector out.

The mirrors themselves and the wiring at the mirrors is all done. I just have to do the connection from driver to passenger door and as I suspected it is proving to be a giant pain in the ***. It will be worth it when it is all done, but for the time being it is half done. Which drives me nuts.

I don't know how you guys are doing this in 1-2 hours. I have spent 4 hours so far, but I am trying to go slow and tape it all down and make it look factory. I am using 22-gauge wire and the OEM connectors. I was planning to use 20-gauge, but the only 20-gauge wire I could find was solid and not stranded. I think I'll be fine with the 22. I hope I am anyways because I am not wanting to do this **** more than once.

Agreed! That door jam is a SOB. But definitely worth doing it right, like you said. Make sure you check you wires and connections real well there. I had a short in there that I had to go back in and fix.

My install Maybe took four hours total. I was going somewhat slow. I also soldered any connections I made. Then tape.
