2 female connectors at mirror. 2 female on door side of door jam. 2 male connectors on cab side of door jam. Same for both sides. 1 female at the power fold switch. Add one more to each connection for marker light, if you are installing that type of mirror.

The install is probably easier without drilling. You don't have to worry about hitting wires with the drill bit. You are going to have the connector out of it's socket already. You might as well just put in the connectors for easy removal and more of a stock look.

Thank you for the detailed response. I just took advantage of the 5% promo from 1AAuto and ordered Part # 1AMRP01124 and the connectors. I have had the door panels off before for speakers, so I hope I can tackle this project without much problem. Thank you again!

Default 2013 fx4

First off I would like to thank everyone for their info on this Mod.
I have a 2013 FX4 with the Max Tow, manual fold mirrors turn signals and puddle lamps. These are the only thing i don't like about the truck. I am really interested in upgrading to the power fold mirrors. I do have a few questions. First does anyone have pictures of the wiring they have done? Also being a basic FX4 with out memory is there a DSM swap to avoid the wiring for power fold after changing the mirror switch? What is the best way to get the wires into the door?
If i do the Mod, if I go with the tow mirrors do i have to run wiring for the turn signals if the current mirrors have working turn signals or just the marker lights? If i install the standard size power fold mirrors will the turn signals work then just wire for power fold?

Not to sound like a jerk, but read the thread. All of the information you are looking for is in there. Take 10-20 minutes and start from post 1. You will get multiple perspectives on this project from people who have completed it.

Again thank you for the detailed response. I believe I have gathered everything to install the female/male pins to not have to drill. Do the pins pop in easily or require special effort? In my head I believe I can tackle it, but have never done anything like installing the pins into the harness. Also the circle connector on the cab side of the door jam, does it pop out from there or does it have to be unplugged from in the cab? My fear is I get started and run into a snag, so any other pointers would be helpful. Thank you again!

Default Folding Mirrors on f-150

the pins seat fairly easy. try not to twist or turn them as you insert. you will feel/ hear a click. and the connector disconnects in the door jam. the cab side of the connector pulls into the cab behind the fuse panel. you will have to remove that first. this was my first time doing something like this as well. good luck.

The DSM swap was the way I went and it worked flawless. I think you need heated/memory already wired to make the DSM swap work.

Well got them installed and everything seems to be working. Couple of things kind of bug me with the 1aauto mirrors. First as someone else already stated about the passenger side glass being magnified. May just take some getting use too, but does anyone know if you can use the glass from the stock mirrors? Initial impressions of that mirror is it seems unusable now. It's like looking through someone else's prescription glasses. Also not feeling the chrome cap with clearish/smoke turn signal lenses. Which to solve that I will probably get the paintable ones included painted to match.

Default Clear Tow Mirror Lights (Replaced!)

I hear you about the lenses part. I just happened to have just replaced mine with blacked out LED Lenses built for the F250. Since the mirror itself is identical to the F250 the new lenses fit perfectly. These might be an option for you if you like the look.

So much better!

Hi guys,

I finally got back to this project. I purchased my mirrors from 1AAutomotive for $375, my powerfold door switch from EBay, and a seat memory module from EBay part number BB5Z-14C708-A (as recommended earlier is this listing).

My 2010 Platinum has all of the features except for the power folding mirrors. I didn't have to do any wiring because all of my wire slots were already filled. I installed everything and the power folding mirrors now work great. The only problem is my memory seat settings, tilt steering wheel, and power adjustable peddals no longer work. I checked the fuses and I've read through this topic several times.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, were you able to get the other items going again? I could live without the power pedals, memory seat and power tilt if I had to but I would at least like to get my steering wheel lowered a little. It's now in the totally up position. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks
