The drivers side mirror's motor is about 2 seconds slower than the passenger side. I would post pictures but I wasn't even thinking about taking any at the time.
How much do you miss having the auto dim feature? It seems like that's the biggest thing given up when going with the A1Auto mirrors. They are a whole lot cheaper though.

Ford OEM tow mirrors don't dim either

Just did the swap of power fold mirrors yesterday and all went great. It took less then 2 hours to complete. One thing that I want to note. Some trucks have a connector for the harness in the door jamb and others have a rubber boot. Mine having the rubber boot made it easy, no drilling through the plug to get wires from the door into the cab.
Also when I ordered the pins for the connectors there was a $30 minimum order. So I purchased a couple hundred to meet the minimum requirement. If anyone needs some send me your info and I can put 10 of them in a envelope and mail them to you. It helps to have a few extra in case you damage one trying to crimp it or other.

I have a 2013 xlt screw. I have been reading this whole thread multiple times. I did the wiring and switch replacement first. I did a little work at a time. I wanted to make sure I got it right and didn't jump right into putting the mirrors on before double checking everything. I get anxious as a lot of us on here might. Tapped into the parking light circuit for the marker light. I combined it with the puddle light wire and used diodes on each line. I installed the power fold tow mirrors from 1aauto. AMRP01414. I just put them on last night. They look beautiful. They work like a charm. I couldn't have done it without all the info from people on this forum. I didn't drill any holes. I only used connectors. I used the same products as stated in this thread. The only thing I added was the male connectors needed at the door jam connector on the cab side.

Do you have any specs on the door jam connectors? Where did you get them from? I had to drill through, but would like to update with clean connectors.

Default Thanks, avoid my mistakes!

Thanks everyone for the great thread, it was a big help.

I have a 2011 SuperCrew Platinum, 6.2L MaxTow so it came with the manual fold trailer mirrors. All wires were filled.

I installed 1AAuto #01415, mirror switch 7L1Z17b676-AA, and DSM BB5Z14C708A. All works great, no wiring required. So if you have a high trim model that came without power folders because of Max Tow, I would recommend this method thoroughly.

I made two mistakes (hopefully you can avoid)

1. When you remove the door panel, there is a clip behind the door pull handle. Be very careful around it, mine was only gently attached and fell into the door cavity when I bumped it. Had to order one in from the dealer.

2. Try to get a "fresh stock" DSM, and plug it in last. My first attempt at the project, I plugged in the DSM first to make sure the memory seats, seat cooler, etc still worked. Then I replaced the mirrors and the switch. With this DSM, there was no power folding action. I’m not sure if the DSM recognized the old mirrors and non-folding switch and disabled the folding feature permanently, or perhaps it was old stock (got it off ebay). When I plugged in a new DSM ordered from Tasca, it worked fine. So plug the new DSM in last!

Hope this helps those who might try this.

Yes, the part # is 1438299-4. That is the exact fit male connector for the female connectors used. I ordered on amazon. They came from Data Alchemy. Fairly quick shipping and cheap. For a pack of 10 I paid $3.80 + tax/shipping. It was under $10.

2011 F150 Lariat w/too many mods to list...but:

just added 1aAuto pf's and only needed a new switch and DSM.

about 1.5 hr to install and bam...worked perfectly! No programming or extra wires needed.

I did have memory, heated to begin with.

My original painted caps even popped right on the 1aAuto mirrors just fine.

BTW, that passenger side 1aAuto mirror takes a while to get used to...the jury is still out weather i will put in the old glass or not....and i don't miss the auto dim at all...maybe if someone figures out how to mod these to put in the old glass, i might to it someday, but not now.

Almost wish I held out for the pf tow mirrors, maybe later, we'll see. Great forum, and great info...couldn't have done it without you guys!

When you get to the drivers door find the same colored wires and pin #'s on the mirror connector ,and splice the 2 wires from the passenger side to the corresponding wires on the drivers door . At this time you will also need to pigtail a wire from the #7 wire to the # 6 wire on the switch which is a yellow/orange, and a wire from the # 16 to the #4 on the switch which is gray/brown.Wiring them this way will eliminate the need for the relay and a flash at the dealer, but will also eliminate the memory function. These instructions will work for you if you had power mirrors to begin with, and have the proper switch. I dont know about any other years or models, this applies to the 2010 , but it may be the same or similar for other years. Again Thanks to DONSMAR1 for the info !!

I have a 2010 xlt wire color was different and I also did not have wires in the doors going to the mirrors.

Added them and ran wire through glove box and under radio dash and now I have power folding mirrors.

Thanks!!
