Just wanted to let anyone with a 2014 XLT know that this mod worked out great. Bought the mirrors from 1A Auto, the oem power fold switch from eBay and followed the instructions in the first couple of pages of this thread. I think someone else mentioned already that the wire colours changed over the years but if you squint and read those pin numbers it all works out.

Thanks for the info on this! Probably one of the most useful mods I've ever done to a vehicle.

Are yours the standard Non Tow non power folding mirrors? If you don't have/use your DSM, you can hardwire it to make it work. If you want to use your DSM, then you will need it reprogrammed.

Yea they are the manual telescoping and non-power folding ,I do have dsm which I do not use,
I wanted to know if I purchased a set of power folding mirrors would only the switch on the door panel be needed to be replaced to get them to work..,or any other thing needed to be done?

Since you have a dsm AND assuming you have wires already pre-wired from the switch to the DSM and from the DSM to your mirrors, you will need to purchase the switch and manually wire it up because by default, the DSM controls the folding via your switch.

By manually wiring up you mean cutting and splicing and running new wires and also running new wires from the passenger side mirror over to the drivers side? Or just using the pre existing wires and just plugging into new switch ?
Thanks.

You will most likely need to cut wires to hook it up if there are existing wires. Some vehicles don't have pre-existing wires and won't require cutting. If you don't want to cut and have pre-existing wires and a DSM, you will need to program. There is a thread already with all the wiring setup on this thread I believe.

2011 F150 XLT FOLDING MIRROR INSTALL UPDATE
I was able to successfully install the power folding mirrors on my XLT Supercab.
The steps listed on page one did work for me as well. I was expecting all pin locations to be free of wires, but pin #6 off the power fold switch harness did already have a gray wire in it. I just needed to splice into it, add the other wires and then the mirrors worked great.

Here are the parts/steps I took:

Ford Folding Switch# 7L1Z-17B676-AA / $25
1AAuto Mirrors #1AMRP01124 / $375
Trailer Wire - 18 gauge 20' $15
Female Harness Pin Connector / Tyco #1719958-1 Automotive Terminals / 10¢ each + Ship $10 - free courtesy KR Kodi
Wire Terminal quick connect and splices / $3 pack of 20
Zip Ties / $1.75 Pack of 50
Vinyl Trim Tools / $10

Steps

1. Remove door panels: pop trim behind handles and remove bolt, pop trim in arm rest and remove bolt, using trim tool - pry power window switches up and disconnect electric harnesses, remove 2 bolts on bottom of door, lift up and tilt panel away from the door, release the door handle, unhook the electric harness to the existing power mirror switch and lift door panel away.

2. Crimp Tyco connector pin on one wire and insert into pin 7 of passenger mirror wire harness. (to insert connector into harness, you'll need to temporarily remove the red plastic piece from the opposite side - replace once connectors inserted)

3. Crimp Tyco connector pin to a second wire and insert into pin 16 of passenger mirror wire harness.

4.Run both wires down through door cavity, to Molex connector.

5. With door open remove rubber boot from door connector and disconnect connector flipping down lever and pulling apart.

6.Drill corresponding holes in both ends of the door connector for both wires that you will run through the boot/connector and under the dash over to the other door connector on the drivers side behind the parking break- I had to remove the parking brake (3 bolts) to get access to the door connector - see pics.
(To remove the connectors on the cab side of the connector you need to push on the bottom while turning clockwise to pop it in to the cab through the slot)

7. Drill corresponding holes in the Molex door connector on the drivers side as well and run the two wires through, up the door cavity to the driver side mirror wire harness.

8. Crimp Tyco connector pin on a wire and insert into pin 7 of driver side mirror wire harness.

9. Crimp Tyco connector pin to a second wire and insert into pin 16 of driver side mirror wire harness.

10.Splice together pin 7 wire from passenger mirror harness with pin 7 wire from driver mirror harness with a third wire to be run to the switch.

11. Run the third wire in step 9 (splice from pins 7 on mirror harnesses) to the power fold switch and splice into the gray wire already in pin 6 of the switch harness. (for convenience I used a quick connect - see pic)

12.Splice together pin 16 wire from passenger mirror harness with pin 16 wire from driver mirror harness with a third wire to be run to the switch.

13. Crimp a Tyco connector pin to the third wire in step 11 (splice from pins 16 on mirror harnesses) and insert into pin 4 of the switch harness.

14.Pop out old mirror switch and insert the new one.

15. Bolt in new mirrors (3 bolts) I had to trim back the foam seals included with the 1AAuto mirrors to give it a cleaner factory finish

16. Re-Connect the two mirror harnesses and the switch harness.

17. Put the Door panels back on.

18. Mirrors work great, look great! Snap on caps. Have chrome package, so went with the chrome caps. Paintable caps also included - flat black plastic, no texture. When switch is in center location, up pushes them out, down closes them.

Clear as Mud!?
