Default Folding Mirrors on f-150

If any body wants to put ford folding mirrors on their truck I can tell you how to make them work without any re programing. I just put them on my 2010 f-150 Lariat. It takes about 1 1/2 hrs & 4 wires your done.

If you are referring to the power fold mirrors, I'm interested.

Default Folding Ford mirrors

Install the mirrors & switch. You must run 2 wires from passanger side mirror over to the driver side door wiring up to the switch. i'll get you the wire color to tap in on the passanger side door and on the drivers side door and then to the switch. See Ford ran wires in the harness but they do not go through the door in to the truck. The only thing is you must have power mirrors already without fold.

Default 2010 F-150 Power Fold Mirrors

I wish I had known about adding Power Fold mirrors to the 2010 Lariat back in December of 2009 when I bought my 2010 Platinum. I really wanted a Lariat with Power Fold mirrors. But back then, Ford F-150 only offered Power Fold on Platinum and King Ranch models, and I didn't want King Ranch. So I coughed up the extra $$ for the Platinum just so I could have Power Fold mirrors.

As a sidenote, the driverside PowerFold on my Platinum already crapped out. It was replaced under warranty. If it had been out of warranty, the cost would have been $640 (for just the driver side PowerFold mirror).

Default wiring power fold mirrors on 2010 f 150

Okay here's the info , thanks to donsmar1 !! remove door panels, remove old mirrors,on the passengers door mirror connector, find pin #'s 7 violet/brown and # 16 green/violet and splice a wire to each. Run those wires over to the drivers door.( this may require drilling a hole or 2 to get them there). When you get to the drivers door find the same colored wires and pin #'s on the mirror connector ,and splice the 2 wires from the passenger side to the corresponding wires on the drivers door . At this time you will also need to pigtail a wire from the #7 wire to the # 6 wire on the switch which is a yellow/orange, and a wire from the # 16 to the #4 on the switch which is gray/brown.Wiring them this way will eliminate the need for the relay and a flash at the dealer, but will also eliminate the memory function. These instructions will work for you if you had power mirrors to begin with, and have the proper switch. I dont know about any other years or models, this applies to the 2010 , but it may be the same or similar for other years. Again Thanks to DONSMAR1 for the info !!
