Default Flowmaster Exhaust note- Question

I picked up a flowmaster American thunder exhaust with split side exit and it came with the additional piping to have the dual rear exit. My question is will it make a difference in the exhaust note heard inside the cabin? I'm just curious because I would assume if you have the exhaust pointed towards the rear, you would hear less than if they were pointed to the side.

Has anybody had experience with this?

If you have it pointed to the rear, you will hear less of it in the cab. You'll also hear it less when driving close to buildings, under overpasses, etc.
