Very often, there's USUALLY no paint there, on 1 or 2 does at least. It's not limited to, but more common on certain colors. Tuxedo black its very common to see lack of paint there. Green gem as well. But I'm not saying that I've never seen full paint there on those colors.

Very common on others makes as well
Respectfully as possible, every time that gets missed, someone ought to catch it and paint it. It is a factory defect.

So got a call from the dealer just now. They will be providing me with a loaner car while my truck gets repaired next week. It's a 2013 Fusion. Next week is supposed to be very rainy and they understand my mustang is a garage queen and didn't want it out in the rain.so they are pulling a used car off their lot for me to borrow.

Nothing wrong with that good to see they are taking care of you. When my wife's fiesta was In getting a new trans they gave us a brand new Eco boost fusion loaded. It was an awesome car and hard to give back lol

Great news, Zax; it sounds like you're in good hands at your dealership! I'm always just a PM away if you need any additional assistance.

Business decision. Most customers won't notice that. So why spend money to paint 10 trucks with missing paint. When only 1 buyer out of the 10 will notice its missing and actually want it done. That's if they care too, many customers that notice it, don't care enough to have it redone.

While I have seen it on many of these trucks, in my close to 6 years at Ford... I've probably only resprayed about 3.

Trucks in the shop. Went to pick up loaner..no go. Apparently they gave it to someone else..so looks like I'm driving my mustang. Fine by me as it's sunny. She will be getting new paint next anyways, well next summer. So excited to have her redone.

That can't have been the only used car they have. They have a lot full of loaners

Correct. Before purchasing my 2013 I checked several trucks on the lot because I had read about this, all had varying degrees of unpainted areas under the doors, just primer. LOL my sales person denied it, he said I was seeing a reflection, the sales manager told him to stop being stupid its primer.

They agreed to paint that area for me to close the deal BUT when I spoke to the paint guy he said two things that changed my mind. First he would have to paint the entire door, I didn't like the sound of that. Second he said the bare primer would be no problem because its epoxy paint, it won't rust, the color and clear coat is just for looks. I opted to leave well enough alone and got some other free goodies in exchange.
