Guys...thanks for the advice...to clarify, I am putting on a smittybilt bar and that's where I would mount the 30 amber. I have been bouncing back and forth about moving my license plate and putting a twenty there...but my OCD won't let me go off-center...weird, I know.

I can tell you now that the 30" amber doesn't do as good as you may THINK it does.
Don't get me wrong. Its a **** load of light -BUT- if you have HIDs (OEM or retro) then its output is greatly diminished. Especially in dry conditions, rain/snow is an entirely different story.

Ok I actually did it. Yes,over the last week or so I read through ALL 135 pages! So please tell the "search" and "look back " police. I think somewhere I saw 1 pic of the grill I have. I have ordered a smittybilt light bar and was going to do PIAA's, kind of like DesertDawgs, but not any more. Tell what you think about mounting a 30 amber driving on the bar and a 30 combo or driving white up high in my grill...been a great thread overall...even with some of the sniping ( kind of entertaining!)

Yeah. The white has just a stupid output. I mean when its on you fan clearly see 2 miles and the ditches for a mile. It makes the headlights useless even with a retro.
Not that I'd EVER use that and hot HLs its just really that crazy bright.

Yup, higher you go, further it throws the light. Theoretically, as the whole purpose of setting it higher up is to avoid obstacles from blocking the light ie. stumps and other debris as well as casting further over the curvature of the road.

If that was for me, let me clear things up a bit. By bottom grille opening, I mean the bottom grille opening of the hood, not the intercooler opening. I plan on using angle iron, and attaching it to the frame part, and not the grille itself. I'm going to use a relay as I want them to turn on with the brights only for my county road travel in the dark.....lots-o-deer.
