Default goodyear SRa's terrible on gravel!!!!!

I am astonished at how terrible of a tire these are. I have driven on about as well maintained gavel roads as you can get 3 times in the last month and ended up with a total of 6 flat tires and 2 that have been totally ruined in the process. I fully understand these are a highway tire and not an all terrain tire. however a mini van tire I feel would not have had the problems these tires have. I can't believe that goodyear and even ford for that matter would put out a product so problematic.

Must be some weak tires or some very sharp rocks!

The SRAs are terrible in general. They make a great tire swing though.

My truck has the factory good years on it, wrangler I think. I haven't replaced them yet because so far the farm hasn't killed them, dirt roads haven't killed them and surprisingly for a stock tire have done ok in mud.

Ford put two type of wranglers on their trucks. SRA and the ATS. Perhaps you have the better ATS LT tire. I had the ATS and was satisfied with there performance. Got 60K Km out of them. I recently just put some LT 275 65 18 Cooper AT3 on. So far I'm very happy with them. No change in MPG. Run smooth with little noise. I live on a gravel road and these tires are great at ejecting them rocks out; so minimal chances of tearing up the rubber. Just waiting on winter to see how they fair.

I probably have the ats because my truck has the offroad package. I thought I was going to replace them when I bought the truck but they are still holding up so I guess I am going to run them until I have a issue or they or worn out.

Don't know how old your truck is, but if there is cracks between the treads, Goodyear should warranty them. They replaced two of mine at 13K. They may provide some calculated rebate for what use you have out of them for a new set.

Good luck having your dealership tire guy do it...I ended up going straight to Good Year after my conversation with my dealership tire manager (if I had received a customer service survey, it would have been ugly). When I traded them for a set of 20" wheels, the set that was good was starting to crack as well.

Hope this helps if you haven't decided to just go purchase a new set!

I had the SRA on my 2011. Got 76,000 km on them with no problems. Driving 4th gravel everyday and the rest highway. Thought they were good for me anyway
