There are some dealers that will say you may brick the system by doing this putting in a bad value. The IDS will simply reject value and you have to re-enter it. I am not a Ford Tech. I have taken the time to learn with a Ford Tech through trial and error on the IDS. The whole thing should take 20-30 mins including adding the remote start and Brake module. I did the exact thing you did on a 11 XLT SCREW.
Thanks for all the info! I'm going to get my handle today and also talk with my buddy and show him all the stuff to get it done! Thanks again!

At Andy Mohr Ford in Plainfield, IN getting an oil change and the guy is telling me it's impossible to be done. He said I had to buy a security module and some other stuff. I told him it can be done gas he kept saying no. There is another dealership that told me they'll do it for for for $50 but haven't been out that way. Not a priority to get done but now I'm making it one to get done really soon. The guy here went back in the shop and told me a guy who had been around Fords for 60 years told him it wouldn't work ever. He went on the say be careful what the other dealership is telling you. Then I mentioned the forum and he said a lot of those guys don't know what they're talking about. He told me to get with him if I get it working because he doesn't believe it. Need to make an appointment.

Not the end it's up to you. The tech is scared because your tampering with the factory programming. No one wants to be responsible for screwing something up. If you take the time to understand build data and how the system works you will realize there is very little to be concerned about. Most techs won't take the time to understand. Btw the security code comes with all trucks whether they have the keypad or not. The dealer often throws that card out if there is no keypad on the truck. You can find your code under the passenger side kick panel. I wouldn't waste my time making a tutorial on something that won't work.

I have my security code off the panel already. I've printed out all the steps on how to do this and I have the build data from motorcraft. I told the dealer this and they were still calling bs on me. Oh well I'll take my business elsewhere when I get time. Thanks for the write up on this.

Anywhere near the big easy? I can program it for you.

The person at the dealer saying it can't be done is obviously ignorant in the how to. But that's not unusual, dealer personnel (most but not all) are trained by Ford, Ford don't like people monkeying with anything especially the programming unless it's oem approved.

I just went to the dealer today (South Bay Ford in Hawthorne, CA)
Followed the steps on the very first post on this thread with the code that needed to be changed, worked flawlessly on my 2011 F150 XLT Ecoboost. Thank you so much!

I know its a bit old, but whenever it snows or snow is predicted. It seems people think they are going to be snowed in there houses for days so they all rush to the stores and stock up on bread and milk. There is a funny youtube vid made by some guy here in nj mocking those people. LOL
