F150LEDS Tail Lights
I so you know not many things work out for me.
I installed the F150LEDS tail lights in my 2013 F150.
First one didn't work. The resistor got so hot I couldn't touch it. The light then quit.
I cut out the resistor and the light worked without it.
F150LEDS don't have phone number you can call which just pisses me off.
Has anyone else had a problem with these lights?
Can I use them without the resistors??
Thanks

I had something like what your describing happen with the lights from my dakota. Same thing the resistor pack was hot and the light didn't work. I tried to wire it before sending it back and it didn't work at all, you need the resistors for the lights to work

There was no 'hyper flash' with mine.

Correct they would light up and running and brake lights would work but you would get the hyper flash, and with our directional signals being controlled through the ecu you wouldn't be able to correct the hyper flash without having that resistor pack on the taillights

I'm sure you are fine without the resistors if you are not experiencing hyper blink. Is there much of a fluctuation in brightness from the tail lights to brake lights when you apply your brakes or turn on signals? My Recon LED tail lights were so bright that you could hardly tell a difference in brightness from tail light to brake light. They were so bright, it appeared that the brake lights were "stuck" on all the time. I added 1/2 watt (68-Ohm) resistors to the tail light wires to dim the LEDs slightly and fixed it perfectly.
