its only illegal if you get caught !

I doubt anyone could find any specific law where they are used on a vehicle as an actual horn. However, if it were misused, I'm sure there are all kinds of public nuisance and noise ordinances you could be cited for.

the "Shocker" 228VX is the best deal in my book. good price, VERY LOUD.
Mine is wired to a momentary switch on the dash, cant even tell its there.

I had the conductor's special on my super duty and my tahoe..but buy the 5 gal tank its more but way better. Matt owns the place its right on the edge of our little town. Yes they are illegal, but thats only if they can figure out who has it BTW the ticket is only $112. Well worth when people hit the deck and **** them selves. When I install on the f150 I will take detailed pics and make a thread.
I have pics of the install on the duty if that will help

Big Mike
Train horns (the real ones) are highly expensive, somewhere along the line people started to collect them thus driving up the price..Once in a while you can find a deal in a pawn shop or flea market..
I ran these on my last Peterbilt, they were just fakes I bought off the internet but worked quite well....
It was nice having 120lbs of air and a huge air supply, with that being said I could only blast them for for maybe 6 to 8 seconds then my low air light would come on..I bought the biggest solenoid I could find and plumbed the horns with the biggest air line the boss man had....They were LOUD, really LOUD....
If I remember right the air line and solenoid were 1/2 inch maybe ??????
So, if you were one of the ones that likes to fly up an on ramp with a cell stuck to your ear and think its ok to cut off big rigs because you think your special........think again I straightened a few of them up in the saddle..
The horns themselves were maybe $120 or so plus shipping, the solenoid was like $30 or so off fleabay, toggle switch was just a couple bucks, and the air line/fittings were free from the boss mans shop....I'll say it again those sum bitches were LOUD and a fraction of what hornblasters gets for the over priced stuff they sell.. YMMV
