Default 2013 F150 Factory Mirror Replacement to Upgrade Question

Howdy and Hello. I purchased a used 2013 XLT Screw w/Ecoboost in December. Really enjoy the truck since its the first Vehicle I've bought for myself in years with Automatic and with a few things that are not manual everything.

I backed out of the garage this AM and did not judge my distance properly and folded back my drivers side mirror and broke the mirror. The housing is intact, but the mirror inside now flops around. Its a basic mirror that has the power adjust, but that is it.

I was wondering can I replace that mirror with a mirror that has blinkers, puddle lights and possibly power folding? I haven't done any research to see if there are any wires to the mirror other than the motor leads. I know I'd need a new switch for the power fold, but hoping the rest is already in tact.

Does anybody have any insite or suggestions to this? I'm sure its been asked many times and sorry if it has this is day one here on the form for me and this accident just happened and since I'm going to be shelling out money for a replacement I might as well install what I want opposed to what it has.

Also is there a documented procedure for pulling the door apart and gaining access to the mirror since I've always been a do-it-yourself kind of person. I don't even have an owners manual for this truck yet since I bought it used so I'm kinda of figuring things out as I go along.

Yes you can. It's all plug n play. He's my mirror swap write up, you can disregard the climate control swap. Unless you want heat as well. If you already have rear defrost, the heat on the mirrors will just work as well

Thank you so much for the write-up. I ended up taking it to a shop this AM and come to find out my mirror has a broken motor and the guy said for 68bucks he would swap out the motor and it all would be good. I do however would like to swap out more functioning mirrors and what you say sounds very encouraging.

So what your saying is the electrical to the mirror is all there and I just have to plug in the new mirrors? I totally understand the need for the defrost on the dash since its another switch. I primarily want the blinkers and puddle lights. Of course the folding mirrors would be a HUGE bonus if I could get them, which does require a new switch as well.

Just buy the mirrors, and plug them in, everything should work. For blinkers, power adjust, and puddle lights it should be all plug and play. For heat, if your truck has heated mirrors now, the new ones should work, if not I believe you will need to add a new climate control thing with the defrost button, all the wiring should be there. Here is a link to someone who did it on a 2010 STX, your should be similar.

same link as the one posted above^^^^
