No, the entry light on the bottom of the mirror "to illuminate puddles before you step in them while entering or departing the vehicle".

Here's a pic (not mine):

Oh I see, I got a 2013 King Ranch Max Tow with the tow mirrors and they don't have that little light on bottom. Mine are the same chromed mirrors as on the Super Duty.

Are you sure? The older tow mirrors did not have the auto dim feature. I don't have the 2013 tows but didn't think they had it either.

I have yet to hear of a car without auto dimming mirrors for '13.

My 2012 Ford Focus doesn't have auto-tinting sideview mirrors, only auto-tinting rearview. Pisses me off, especially with all the idiots running PnP HID's riding 2 feet from my bumper.

Not sure about the 2013+ powerfold towing mirrors but the 2007-2013 non-power folding towing mirrors don't have autodim. I have reason to believe that the power-folding ones don't auto-dim because of the small convex mirror. It doesn't have any power supply at all, so having only the top section auto-dim would be silly.

Could be right hardcore. This is hardly a selling point for me though. So what no dimming mirrors, we lived without them for so many years. Plus most people's headlights don't get past my tailgate anyway haha

Has anyone had any success adding the powerscope mirrors yet? I have them installed on my '11 FX4 and they we're plug and play but the "clearance" lights act as puddle lamps, not in sync with the headlights, and I haven't got the power extend wired yet. Everything else works properly. Is there a wiring adapter for these or can you change the door harness to a '13 or '14 to get these working properly?

Not exactly plug-n-play. You need to wire up the power telescoping feature.

The PowerScope Tow Mirrors DO NOT have puddle lights, however many of us have wired them so the side marker/turn signal lights come on as puddle lights (of a sort) and marker/running lights.

The PowerScope Tow Mirrors DO NOT have the auto-dim feature.

My OE King Ranch mirrors had everything (power adjust, memory, heated, power fold, auto-dim on driver's side, puddle lights - everything) on my small size standard OE mirrors.

When I installed the PowerScope mirrors, initially I just plugged them in, and essentially everything worked except for the power telescoping feature (and auto-dim, because none of the tow mirrors have auto-dim, and the standard size only has it on the driver's side).

I ordered the telescoping switch, a plug for the switch that has a pigtail of wires, and the bezel to mount the switch on the door panel.

A number of us have done the mod, and here's a link to a lengthy thread about it:

https://www.f150forum.com/f38/powerf...irrors-239274/

In that thread, I think it's about post# 21, there's a list of part #s, however the list has the part# for the black bezel. I have the adobe/tan interior and found the part# for that bezel in a later post.

Also, that post# 21 doesn't reference the Ford switch and plug/pigtail, but you can find it in a later post as well.

That thread is rather long, but well worth the read if you're planning on installing the PowerScope Tow Mirrors, or need to finish up the power telescoping feature!!
